Bears-Phantoms Facts and Figures

  • *Hershey leads the league in goals for, with 60, but has also given up the third most goals (51), trailing only Rochester (60) and Norfolk (52).
  • *Nearly half of the goals (47.1%) allowed by the Bears have occurred in special teams situations.
  • *The Phantoms are 7-in-22 (31.8%) on the power play in three games against Hershey.
  • *This is the first time that Finnish rookie Oskar Osala has gone back-to-back games without scoring.
  • *Osala, Perreault, and Bouchard saved the day in the last meeting between the clubs when they worked together to steal a point in the last minutes of the game.
  • *If you discount Hershey’s opening night power play success, the team is 3-for-54 on the PP on the road–that’s just 5.5%.
  • *They are also 1 for 42 (2.4%) on the PP in the last 7 games.
  • *Chris Bourque, who has scored only 2 goals since he returned from his stint with the Caps, hasn’t registered any points against Philly this season.
  • *Hershey hasn’t scored on a power play against the Phantoms all season. (0-for-21)
  • *Philly has scored the first goal in both games against Hershey at the Spectrum this season.
  • *The Bears have outscored the Phantoms 5-to-0 in the third period of both meetings at the Spectrum, where, in both instances, they were trailing after two periods.

(Just a couple of quick notes on some former Bears who now wear a Philly sweater: Defenseman Danny Syvret has 15 points (3-12-15) on the season, just five short of his career high for points in an entire season, and has scored 6 of those points against the Bears. Former Bears’ captain Boyd Kane has registered 5 of his 7 points of the season against Hershey.)
