The Redskins placed defensive tackle Lorenzo Alexander on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night.
The Redskins signed linebacker Tyson Smith to fill his spot. Smith spent part of the 2006 season on the Redskins practice squad.
