First Cut Is The Deepest

The Washington Redskins announced today that they have waived the following players from their 90-man roster, to get down to the required 75:

RB Lennon Creer
RB Antwon Bailey
OL Chris Campbell
QB Jonathan Crompton
WR Samuel Kirkland
LB Monte Lewis
G Nick Martinez
TE Beau Reliford
OL James Lee
OL Tony Moll
K Neil Rackers

WR Lance Lewis (Waived-Injured)
CB Morgan Trent (Waived with Injury Settlement)

CB Kevin Barnes to the Detroit Lions via trade.
OT Jammal Brown was placed on thePUP list

No real surprises except that Neil Rackers got about as lousy a shot at the kicking job as Shayne Graham did last year. I guess Graham Gano looked so much better kicking extra points that the Redskins wereable to make their kicking decisions without many real kick.
