So Redskins Nation, what do you think?

While pride might make the average fan flex at the lack of prime time games (three), its hardly surprising given the Redskins record last year.

Week three promises to be ‘fun’ – while DJax may have something to prove, the Philly fans will also likely have something to say… and to throw. Might want to consider wearing your helmet on and off the field DeSean. Hopefully it’s too early in the season for snow, and subsequently for snowballs.

Three division games to close out the season? If the Redskins are fortunate enough to challenge for a playoff spot, a lot could be decided in those 21 days. Two of them are at home, should that situation arise.

ICYMI April 17: DJax, Prospects and ‘N Sync?

Here are some Redskins news tidbits in case you missed them…

DJax Owes Rosenhaus

On Tuesday, arbitrator Roger Kaplan ordered Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson to pay back some $516,415 in what was described as “loans and fees” to former agent Drew Rosenhaus. According to Jeff McClane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jackson will appeal the decision. Read the rest of this entry »

DeSean Jackson reports to Redskins park for off-season workouts

After spending last week on a vacation, which was previously planned before being released by the Philadelphia Eagles, DeSean Jackson reported to Redskins park on Monday for off-season workouts. Jackson, who signed with the Washington Redskins on April 2nd, is expected to be the game changing receiver and deep threat this upcoming season and beyond.

The workouts at Redskins Park that began last Monday, are voluntary workouts, but it’s great that Jackson is in the facility early putting in the work and meeting his new teammates. The first two weeks of off-season workouts consist of conditioning and strength training, so that means that Jackson didn’t miss any on field work.

Also with new Redskins head coach Jay Gruden on board, the players have to learn the playbook. So despite not being there for the first week of the off-season program, Jackson doesn’t have a lot of catching up to do.

Here’s a pic of Jackson working out today at Redskins Park.

Not only did he workout with his new teammates today, he also caught some passes from Robert Griffin III, which is great to hear. They are working on getting acclimated with one another, as they prepare to shed defenses with the deep ball in 2014.

Expect a very potent Redskins offense in 2014

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Washington Redskins

Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins offense, had a very tough 2013 season. RGIII was coming off knee surgery last off-season, which really hindered his development. He didn’t have the off-season workouts that most quarterbacks and receivers have. He had to spend all of last off-season rehabbing his surgically repaired right knee.

So what can we expect from Robert Griffin III in 2014? I personally expect a healthy and rejuvenated RGIII that will be the comeback player of the year next season. He now has an off-season to develop his game and to start finding a rhythm with his receivers. New Redskins head coach Jay Gruden, who worked with Andy Dalton in Cincinnati, can definitely help RGIII become a much better quarterback. Read the rest of this entry »

ICYMI: April 6th

This is a new blog segment at THn that I’m going to unimaginatively call ICYMI, which ICYMI, is an acronym for in case you missed it.

The idea being that we all lead busy lives and can’t possibly stay up on EVERYTHING going on in the Redskins Nation – not without a little help. Hopefully this blog will occasionally help you do that. It won’t concentrate on the big burgundy and gold news, but that doesn’t make it any less crucial to the avid B&G bleeder.

Let’s start with the obvious… Read the rest of this entry »

DJax – Talent, Production, and Attitude

How good is DJax? How much will he produce? Will he be an attitude problem?

Clearly, DJax does not suck. He is not slow either. But how good is he really? Some say he is overrated. Here is one man’s ( take before Jackson’s year with Chip Kelly: Read the rest of this entry »

Jackson Joins Redskins

DeSean Jackson is a Washington Redskin.

Let that sink in for a second.

I’ll say it again now that you have had time to ready your burgundy and gold brain for the news, DeSean Jackson is a Washington Redskin.

Late Tuesday night, the 27-year old wide receiver agreed to terms with Washington, and instantly became the Redskins’ crown jewel of the 2014 offseason. Anyone in the Redskins Nation twitterverse has been watching with bated breath for the last 24 hours, as rumors swirled, and speculation mounted, as to whether or not a deal with Jackson was, or could get done. In this week’s edition of Leftovers, Andre Carter talks about whether switching to a 3-4 was a good decision or not, who else he is worried about besides Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson, and whether the team has met expectaions so far this season.

Game Recap: Eagles 27, Redskins 17

It Was Over When:
DeSean Jackson ran the game’s fourth play from scrimmage in for a touchdown. Could a game really be over that early? It seemed to be – the Redskins never really did get all the way back. The game was just two minutes old and yet the wind had been completely sucked from the Redskins’ (and their fans) sails. Read the rest of this entry »
