Redskins 2010 Offseason

Here we go with another edition of “How to Spend Dan Snyder’s Money!” Also affectionately referred to as “Who Wants to be a Gazillionare!”

Fans are understandably nervous about the possibility of a lockout in 2011, but in the mean-time, it’s looking like 2010 will go uncapped. The rumors of what the Redskins would do in an uncapped year began the moment someone realized this was an actual possibility.

It’s Okay to Be Skeptical

So, the Redskins have turned a few heads in these past two months. Cerrato and Zorn are out; Allen and Shanahan are in. Dan Snyder seems committed to showing the fans that he has done away with his meddlesome nature (which this blogger believes ended with the re-hiring of Joe Gibbs) and is going to leave the football decisions to his newly hired staff. Musings from Curmudgeon Corner

Posted from Curmudgeon Corner, Maine

As is typically the case, the Redskins are off to a fast start in the offseason championships. Heck, the regular season wasn’t even officially over, and we already had a 4 game lead over the competition after the hiring of Bruce Allen. Read the rest of this entry »

A new GM and why now

What is going on with the Washington Redskins? Sure it’s a 4-9 team but over the past month most Redskins fans have stopped walking around with their heads down. Over the last four weeks the Redskins have only posted one victory, that being over the lowly Oakland Raiders. Yet Redskins fans are extremly happy with what has been going on at Redskins Park and the improvements on the field. Read the rest of this entry »

Musings from Curmudgeon Corner 11/23/09

Posted from Curmudgeon Corner, Maine

I have no idea what to think. My Redskins just held to Cowboys to 7 points. My Redskins carried a lead into the fourth quarter, against the Cowboys, at their house. I should be happy.  Yet, I find myself wondering “so, what?”

The problem was, that lead consisted of 6 points.  Six lousy points, on two field goals.  I can’t entirely blame Zorn, this time.  The patched up offensive line took another blow, with the loss for the year of yet another lineman.  The second string running back, who had knocked them dead last week with a clutch performance, went down with a season ending knee injury. Sit Down Carlos

Cornerback Carlos Rogers was benched on Sunday, after giving up a 40-yard touchdown reception to Brandon Marshall. On the play, Rogers was beaten badly on a double move, allowing Marshall to get behind him and make the catch.

Carlos was a little sensitive after the game: Read the rest of this entry »

Burgundy? On a Monday?

My day ended yesterday with my wife looking at me and saying “you get to wear a ‘victory jersey’ tomorrow!”

I’m still in disbelief. Read the rest of this entry »

Finally; Some Emotion

How many people here thought the Redskins actually stood a chance versus Atlanta?

Raise your hands.

Okay, now if you are one of the ones sitting at your computer with your hand raised I want you to turn it towards yourself and slap yourself in the face. Nobody can see you with your hand raised at a computer (unless you are video chatting, which you are not) and those that can are probably wondering why you are sitting at your computer with your hand raised; you should at least look productive.
