  • News and Notes: Zorn / Cerrato / Largent / Thomas

While it has become almost painful to watch the Redskins fumble through each and every week, it’s our job at THN to keep bringing you the news – no matter how ‘embarrassing’ some of it might be.

Yesterday, Vinny Cerrato publicly endorsed coach Jim Zorn’s job stability. Read the rest of this entry »

    Zorn Remains Dignified

As Redskin fans spend the week looking for a nice deep hole to stick their head in and hide, Jim Zorn suffered the dubious distinction of having to hold a Monday Press Conference and explain the state of the team to the media. Somehow, he did so with grace and dignity. Read the rest of this entry »

Sun Tzu, Daniel Snyder and Jim Zorn

The following post was written by theHogs.net member, Redskin in Canada. I have in the past, been a Dan Snyder apologist, and RiC and I have had a few spirited debates on this topic, but as I slowly leave the dark side and come into the light, much of what he has been saying over the past few seasons has really started to make sense. A Redskins Fan’s Lament

    Posted from Curmudgeon Corner, Maine

I’m sorry, Mr. Cassell.  Did I violate your personal space?

It made no difference, ultimately, in the outcome of the game, but that alleged “roughing the passer” call on Haynesworth is just further evidence that the effort by the NFL to protect a single group of players is completely out of control.  The NFL has made the determination that an all out effort to keep Quarterbacks from being touched has greater value than protecting the integrity of the game. Musings from Curmudgeon Corner 10/13

    Posted from Curmudgeon Corner, Maine

Did you know that the Redskins will set a record for consecutive games against winless teams this Sunday? It’s true. Clearly, the Gods have smiled upon us! The easiest schedule in football is ours. Danny must have used some kind of Redskins friendly virus on the scheduling computer. What fun! Read the rest of this entry »

    Dan Snyder and the XMB-5000

The office was large and plush. The 15-foot ceilings and large windows made even the largest of defensive linemen feel small. To one side was an equally large fire-place and in the middle or the room, with the windows behind it, was the desk of one Daniel M. Snyder.

Rain pattered against the glass of the enormous windows, and gave the night an even more ominous feel. The only light in the office was coming from the crackling fire in the aforementioned fireplace. Read the rest of this entry »

    Redskin Fallacies and Misconceptions

I really don’t understand some of the backwards logic that Redskin fans tend to use some of the time… actually, make that a lot of the time. Here are some of the biggest fallacies that I see being repeated lately: Read the rest of this entry »

    Medium; Not Well Done

Okay, I get it, I get it. Sure those Lions weren’t the 0-16 Lions of last year.

Sure those Lions were only 0-2 this year.

Yes those Lions had 16 new starters, and a new head coach, but is that the best excuse we can come up with for why we lost?

“Well, they were a good team; better than people give them credit for.” That’s our response?

How are we ever supposed to beat “good teams” if we console ourselves after a loss…if we justify a loss by saying “oh, well, they were a good team.” Read the rest of this entry »
