By The Numbers: Redskins vs Titans

Here are the important statistics and numbers for Washington’s narrow 19-17 victory over Tennessee on Sunday. It may not have been the prettiest of wins, but it ended the losing streak regardless, and hopefully put the now 2-5 Redskins back on the winning path. The Titans fell to the same mark of 2-5.

351 – Total net yards for the Redskins, to just 236 for the Titans.

160 – Yards passing for Titans quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, on 17 receptions (26 attempts, 91.8 rating).

139 – Yards passing for Kirk Cousins, on 10 completions (16 attempts).

138.9 – QB rating for Colt McCoy. Contrast that with the 64.3 that Cousins put up on basically the same number of yards. Read the rest of this entry »

Observations from Redskins vs. Bills

The Redskins improved to 3-0 in the preseason with their well-rounded 30-7 victory over the Buffalo Bills Saturday afternoon. Although scores and records don’t matter in the preseason, performance does. Here’s what I took away from yesterday’s game:

Pluck The Cowboys Thanksgiving Style

Yeah, yeah, yeah – this is a day or six, and probably a couple of dollars short. The cool answer is that it took this long to work out the alcohol consumed during the Redskins thrilling 38-31 victory over the Cowboys last Thursday. The honest one is that I actually just forgot to actually POST the blog after I had written it. (Hey, maybe the alcohol can actually be blamed!)

I digress, here’s five no-longer-quick-thoughts on the game: Read the rest of this entry »

Ten Game Thoughts: Vikings

It was another roller coaster ride for Redskins Nation on Sunday, as the Redskins struggled early, and then struggled to put the Vikings away after dominating through most of the middle of the game. In the end, Robert Griffin III’s two rushing touchdowns, proved more than Minnesota could handle, and allowed Washington to come away a 38-26 victory – their first home win in nine tries. The loss ended a three game winning streak for the Vikings, and dropped them to 4-2 on the season.

Oh… The Redskins Kickers (Rant)

I admit it, I’m frustrated, I’m fed up, I’m exasperated – hang whatever you want on me – I’m sick and damn tied of my ulcer bleeding every time the Washington Redskins attempt a field goal.

I don’t have anything against Kai Forbath at all, but to me, he is just another in a very, very long line of terrible kicking decisions in the nation’s capital.

You can call that condemnation harsh all you want, the franchise’s track record speaks for itself. Read the rest of this entry »

Redskins New Kicker

The Redskins have released Billy Cundiff after just five games, because well, did you watch him? It’s an amazing statement that in the sea of poop that is the Redskins kicking situation the last 20 years – Cundiff is just another that failed to shine.

The Redskins have signed a new kicker, and I have just received an exclusive photo to share with you all: Read the rest of this entry »
