Sure hope it's easier for Gibbs and company to motivate our team after Sunday's debacle than it was to find the motivation to write about this week's picks. Congratulations to our Week 8 winner, Champsturf. I wonder if he or she is the one with the Portis voodoo doll.

San Francisco at Atlanta
Time to bring back the 'who cares' pick of the week on this one. Nolan wins for the first time since week two, thanks in part to all the turmoil in Atlanta.
Pick - 49ers

San Diego at Minnesota
Can't see Tomlinson letting Peterson show him up. Look for the Chargers to load up against Peterson and force whoever starts at quarterback for the Vikes to beat them.
Pick - Chargers

Jacksonville at New Orleans
No secrets in the one as the Jags will be forced to run often and avoid putting backup quarterback Quinn Gray in a position to make a mistake. The Saints' rush defense has been stout and should pass the test in a close contest.
Pick - Saints

Carolina at Tennessee
David Carr is in for a long day against another familiar foe. He'll struggle to get the Panthers into field goal range in this battle of field goals between two of the league's better kickers, Kasay and Bironas.
Pick - Titans

Cincinnati at Buffalo
J.P. Losman gets another shot, as Trent Edwards injured his wrist last week against the Jets and needs more time to recover. Losman won't be able to lead the Bills to enough points to keep up with Palmer and company.
Pick - Bengals

Green Bay at Kansas City
Tough break for the Pack losing DeShawn Wynn for the season with a shoulder injury, but the Pack really hasn't been relying on their rushing attack. Favre and the Pack are on a roll, winning 10 of their last 11, dating back to last season. Coming off their bye, Kansas City is the only team, other than the Packers, that Favre hasn't beat. He'll enjoy that challenge.
Pick - Packers

Denver at Detroit
Man it's hard to pick the Lions after watching so closely what Philthy and we were able to do to them. But winning at home against the Bucs after we kicked their butt, and sweeping their biggest rival last week, says something about this team. Meanwhile, Denver continues to struggle defensively and could take a major hit to their secondary if John Lynch's injury is more serious than reported.
Pick - Lions

Arizona at Tampa Bay
Both these teams are in the thick of their divisional races despite losing their last two contests. Kurt Warner has had two weeks of rest, since his gutsy performance in Washington. One big shot on Warner's left side and Tim Rattay is in for the Cardinals. This is a tough pick, but taking the Bucs at home, with a pissed-off Gruden.
Pick - Bucs

Washington at New York Jets
Talk about going from the AFC East penthouse to the outhouse. The Jets are going with Kellen Clemens for his second start and Coles is questionable. Just what the doctor ordered. If this game doesn't help everyone forget last week, nothing will. The only thing better would be a rematch with Miami.
Pick - Redskins

Seattle at Cleveland
Seattle is coming off their bye after crushing the hapless Rams. Cleveland had to come from 14 points down against the same Rams to escape with a win last weekend in St. Louis. It's been almost six years since the Browns have won three in a row. Keep counting.
Pick - Seahawks

New England at Indianapolis
Hyped as the biggest game in the history of the regular season; the champs are five point dogs at home. Let's hope it lives up to the hype. On top of it being the best match up of the regular season, this game ought to give us an idea of just how well our defense stacks up against a Colt defense that is one of the league's best. Don't you know, deep down, Peyton is just steaming at all the attention being given to Brady and the Pats?
Pick - Patriots

Houston at Oakland
Both of these teams are coming in off three straight losses and their last win against the lowly Dolphins. Just a hunch, but taking the Texans and Sage Rosenfels over the Faiders and Josh McCown.
Pick - Texans

Dallas at Philadelphia
The numerous headlines and full page pics here in Puke country about T.O.'s return to Philthy are enough to make you want to puke. Wouldn't mind being wrong with this pick. and seeing the pukes' confidence brought down a couple of notches this week and next against the Giants, before we travel to little D.
Pick - Pukes

Baltimore at Pittsburgh
This ought to be quite a battle for the AFC North division lead. The Steelers haven't lost at home this season or on Monday night at home in 16 years. Look for them to avenge last season's two embarrassing losses to the Ravens.
Pick - Steelers

Last Week 8-5
Season 76-40
