Hog Blog with Phillip Daniels - Week 3

It was a hard fought game and both teams were deserving of a victory but in the end, Redskins are 1-1 and the Rams are 0-2. What people must understand is that this is the team that beat us last year when they came to FedEx, so why not be happy that this year we didn't end up on the losing side of things? Yes we dropped touchdowns and had a turnover taken away from us in the early moments of the game; but those things happen all the time in the NFL, and you cannot get those mistakes back. What we have to be happy about, is that those mistakes didn't cost us the game, and we live to see a victory.
The Washington Redskins have some of the best fans in the country so why not be passionate about the way your team plays? The boo's show that the fans expect a lot out of our team this year, and that this was not by any means our best performance. I understood the booing at halftime but come on, not in victory formation. LOL
Don't let your fustrations get the best of you to the point that you forget that we are kneeling to win the game. I know it was fustrating to see a 9 - 7 score on the board, and (you) probably wanted us to score at the end but please be happy that we didn't lose the game. Furthermore, our games don't usually end with us kneeling to preserve a victory, but with us scrapping to get or keep a victory. I take great pleasure in the fact that we were taking a knee to win the game because as we know, anything can happen when you're not smart. I thought the coaches were being smart to get us out of FedEx at 1-1.
I want to now take time out to talk about Robert Henson and that situation. First off, I want to say that I by no means agree with how he handled the situation on Twitter. Robert has taken a beating this week and he has been reprimanded by every high authority there is. I just want everyone to know that Robert is a good teammate and a good person.
I know he made a young mistake but I ask you to have forgiveness in your heart. Robert's father-in-law is pastor T.D. Jakes, and I really feel that pastor Jakes would not have let Robert marry his daughter without a really good background check or a good character check! Robert is a hard working young man who will be a good player in this league. One thing that you might not know is that Robert had bottle tops thrown at him, and had fans spit on him as he was leaving to field to get to the locker room. As fans I feel that you cannot let your unhappiness about what happened on the field get the best of you to the point that you have to stoop to this level. He was really upset about this, and he found his way to his Twitter account, and he didn't handle the booing or the situation the right way. He knows his mistake and I guarantee you, on his behalf, that this will never happen again. I guess the best advice that he got was from his own father-in-law who told him that people spit on Jesus Christ and to just walk away. Great advice I must say.
This week we play the Detroit Lions. As I have said before, every team in this league is capable of beating anyone at any given time. Sure they have not won a game in a while but they have come close and will win one against somebody. They have good athletes on their team who have made a bunch of plays, so we must be ready for any and everything. As every one of you knows... a team that has a quarterback from the University of Georgia will always have a chance to beat it's opponent! I guess I say this because I went to the University of Georgia so that statement may be a little bias. LOL.
We must go to Detroit with our "A" game to get another victory under our belts.
Hail To The Redskins !!
