The Redskins added depth by signing three free agents today. All were practicing with the team on Saturday. To make room for the signings, undrafted tackle Quinn Christensen (BYU) and undrafted safety Dennard Wilson (Maryland) were released by the team. Cornerback Walt Harris was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list.

Wide receiver Dameane Douglas worked out for Redskin officials after the morning practice, was signed by the team, and currently wears jersey #1. I asked Dameane when he got the call from the team and he replied "10 P.M. Pacific time (last night)." Douglas was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 4th round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Dameane spent the next four seasons (1999-2002) with the Philadelphia Eagles. After suffering a severe knee injury at training camp in 2003 with the Kansas City Chiefs, he was cut and had been a free agent until today.

Kicker Ola Kimrin, best known for his record-SETTING 65 yard field goal with the Denver Broncos in the 2002 preseason bout against the Seattle Seahawks (which didn't count), also spent some time in Dallas. Kimrin was with the team during the morning and evening practices today and will wear #6. He will finally provide some competition for John Hall but it's obvious his chance of making the team is slim.

Cornerback Ryan Clark spent 2002-2003 as a New York Giant. He appeared in all 16 games and got a slight increase in playing time with the injuries to starters Will Allen and Will Peterson. Clark will join former teammate Ralph Brown in the Skins secondary but is starting out very low on the depth chart and doesn’t have a big chance of making the team given the overhaul of the secondary this offseason. Clark is wearing #31 (red) and appeared in both of the team's practices today.
