If last week's game proved anything, it was that generalizations on what needs to improve, and happen or not happen in analyzing NFL games, seldom works. The Redskins did everything asked of them to win. They avoided the turnovers that have plagued them throughout the season. They protected Brunell and even generated a pass rush in the first half. Lastly, they created the necessary turnovers to win the turnover battle for the first time this season, yet it still wasn’t enough to win a hard fought game at home.

As tough as it is to see our beloved Redskins lose, it sure is nice to see that the finger pointing, common when teams lose six of their last eight, is limited to our forum and not in our team’s locker room.

Houston at Baltimore
How bad must the Texans feel about last week’s collapse? The possible return of Reed and Lewis should help the Raisins get a win. Jamal Lewis, as the only healthy Baltimore back, should have a big day. I know - who cares.
Pick – Raisins

Atlanta at Carolina
The Falcons, after a long rest and no challenge from the lowly Lions, feel this is a must win against their division leader. It won’t be enough as they fall two back behind the Panthers and one behind the Bucs.
Pick – Panthers

Green Bay at Chicago
What’s the over/under on how many picks Favre will throw?
Pick – Da Bears

Jacksonville at Cleveland
Jimmy Smith’s upset, Fred Taylor’s nicked and David Garrard will get his first start at QB. Who’s David Garrard?
Pick – Brownies

Minnesota at Detroit
The Lions lost to the Vikes four weeks ago with Mooch, I can’t see them reversing their fortune without him.
Pick – Vikes

Tennessee at Indianapolis
Have I mentioned that the Colts are a damn good team? That was an impressive win on Monday night. I must admit, I have team envy.
Pick - Colts

Buffalo at Miami
Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown ought to put up huge rushing numbers against the Bill’s porous rush defense.
Pick – Phish

Tampa Bay at New Orleans
Gruden will have his club ready for this important divisional game.
Pick – Bucs

Dallas at New York Giants
A must watch – this ought to be a great game. The Gnat’s lack of a pass defense has to catch up with them sometime. No pun intended. The Pukes will find a way to shut down Shockey, while Bledsoe and his receivers have another big game against the Gnats. Besides, even if I pick them and they lose, I feel great!
Pick – Pukes

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh
Tough to pick against the Steelers at home, especially considering they already beat the Bungles at their house.
Pick – Steelers

Arizona at San Francisco
The 9’ers are giving up over 400 yards per game!
Pick – Cards

Washington at St. Louis
The Redskin offense should perform better this week against a weak Ram defense. Besides, a rookie QB from Harvard named Ryan Fitzpatrick will not beat the Skins!
Pick – Redskins

Denver at Kansas City
As usual, the Broncos run all over the Chiefs.
Pick – Broncos

New York Jets at New England
Amazingly at 6-5, the Pats still hold a two-game lead in their division and have two of their next four games against the Jets. The only team left on their schedule with a winning record is the Bucs in week 15.
Pick – Patriots

Oakland at San Diego
The Chargers will beat the Faiders for the second time this season and continue their roll – making it five wins in a row. I know another team I’d like to run off five in a row!
Pick – Chargers

Seattle at Philadelphia
Holmgren and his team know how important having home field advantage is to their playoff chances. A loss to floundering Philthy isn’t acceptable and would bring the other green birds tumbling down as well.
Pick - Seahawks

Last Week’s Results: 11-5
Season To Date: 113-63
