The National Football League released the names of 48 underclassmen who have been granted special eligibility for the 2006 NFL Draft on April 29-30.
It is a bumper crop of declarations. Reggie Bush and Vince Young highlight this year's underclassmen, but Vernon Davis, Haloti Ngata and Mario Williams are potential top ten picks as well. LenDale White, Winston Justice, Ernie Sims, Santonio Holmes, Laurence Moroney, Chad Jackson, Leonard Pope, Darnell Bing, and Ashton Youboty could all also hear their names called before the first round is over.
That would make almost half of the entire first round underclassmen, with 14 out of 32 selections.
Ko Simpson and Johnathan Joseph from South Carolina were the only two sophomores that were granted eligibility.
