Houston Texans

2005 Results:
2-14 (4th in AFC South)

2006 Projected Cap Status:
84,765,802

2005 Season Recap:
Well, there isn't much to say about a 2-14 team that ranked 30th on offense and 31st on defense for 2005. Not helping their anemic offense was the fact that they ranked 26th in turnovers with a year end differential of -8. The Texans started the season losing their first 6 games before pulling out a squeaker against Cleveland 19-16. That would be the last taste of victory for another 7 games. Their season ended miserably New Years Day 2006 with a loss to the lowly San Francisco 49ers, 17-20.

Team needs:
This team needs help across the boards, and with new head coach Gary Kubiak (Denver OC), they hope to bring some respectability back into the organization. Where they have placed a large amount of confidence and expectations is with David Carr, signing him to a new contract extension through 2008. But what's on the minds of a lot of Texans fans is: will the Texans select Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush (RB USC) with the #1 pick in the 2006 NFL Draft? All indications point to Duhhhh - YES. Staff changes continue with the addition of Richard Smith the team's defensive coordinator, Brian Pariani as tight ends coach, Mike McDaniel as offensive quality control coach, Robert Saleh as defensive quality control coach, Johnny Holland as linebackers coach, John Benton as offensive line coach and Martin Bayless as assistant defensive backs coach.

2006 draft picks:
1st Round 1st pick overall
