Holdman signed a one-year deal with the Redskins as an unrestricted free agent in the 2005 offseason following one season with the Cleveland Browns. Prior to the 2004 season, the Redskins courted Holdman but the former Texas A&M Aggie decided to sign with the Browns.

While filling in for LaVar Arrington during the 2005 season, Holdman totaled 38 tackles and one fumble recovery while appearing in 14 games. The Redskins re-signed Holdman in the 2006 offseason to add to the competition at starting weak side linebacker to replace Arrington, who had been released.

Holdman has appeared in 89 career games, starting 68. During his five seasons in Chicago and Cleveland (1999-2004), Holdman tallied 522 tackles, 9 forced fumbles, 4 sacks, one interception, and 16 passes defended.

After missing the final six games of the 2000 season with a left knee injury, Holdman recovered the next season, starting 15 games and totaling a career-high 145 tackles.

Following the best season of his career, Holdman started the first four games of the 2002 season but suffered a season ending injury to his right knee. He returned to action and started 13 games in 2003, his final season with the Chicago Bears. In his only season in Cleveland, Holdman totaled 110 tackles, three passes defended, and a half a sack. He was the second leading tackler on the team that season.

From 1995-1998, Holdman started 40 games and finished his college career with 294 tackles (46 for losses), 16.5 sacks, and seven forced fumbles. As a senior, he was named by College Sports News as an All-America honorable mention and was a first team all-Big 12 Conference selection. After his eight tackle, one sack, and one fumble recovery performance against Nebraska on Oct. 10, 1998, Holdman was named USA Today National Player-of-the-Week and Big 12 Defensive Player-of-the-Week.

Holdman graduated from Texas A&M with a major in recreation, parks and tourism sciences.

As a senior at Elsik High School, Warrick was a first team Class 5A all-state, all-greater Houston first team, and a Super Prep All-American selection. After compiling 151 tackles and 3 sacks that same season, Holdman was highly recruited and was one of the top ranked high school linebackers in the nation.

Holdman’s parents are James and Gale Taylor; he is an only child.
