The 2007 NFL Draft is less than a week away, so THN is taking a look at each position's top five prospects. Up next are the defensive ends:

#1
Name: Gaines Adams
Class: Senior
School: Clemson
Height: 6’ 4
Weight: 258 pounds

Adams has a long wingspan, and can time his jumps to bat down passes at the line of scrimmage when he doesn’t get to the QB. He can blow by the offensive linemen to get into the backfield on any given play and is very agile for a DE. Adams should be the first Defensive End drafted.

#2
Name: Adam Carriker
Class: Senior
School: Nebraska
Height: 6’6
Weight: 296 pounds

Carriker shows adequate quickness and agility, possesses outstanding size and plays with good leverage. He will bull-rush a lineman and can also hold his ground at the point of attack. He should be a complete defensive end and may be best suited in a 3-4 scheme. He will be an early-to-mid first round pick.

#3
Name: Jamaal Anderson
Class: Senior
School: Arkansas
Height: 6’5
Weight: 288 pounds

Anderson possesses outstanding straight-line speed for a defensive end his size, he’s a freak (physically) with long arms and big hands. He has enough size and strength to hold his ground against the run and is relentless as a pass rusher. He will be an early-to-mid first round pick.

#4
Name: Jarvis Moss
Class: Senior
School: Florida
Height: 6’6
Weight: 250 pounds

Moss has the ability to get offensive linemen off-balance with his double moves and closes quickly on the QB. He plays with a good motor and will bring value to either a 4-3 defense or a 3-4. He will be an mid-to-late first round pick.

#5
Name: Anthony Spencer
Class: Senior
School: Purdue
Height: 6’2
Weight: 261 pounds

Spencer plays the run well and will give great effort from the backside. He constantly applies pressure from the outside and his motor never stops running. Spencer displays good strength for his size and is a threat off the edge. He may not be a first round pick, but he won't last long in the second.
