Ramsey to Get Chance Sooner Rather Than LaterCoach Joe Gibbs announced Monday afternoon that Patrick Ramsey would likely get the starting nod in next Monday night’s game against the archrival Dallas Cowboys.

Ramsey came into last Sunday’s losing effort against the New York Giants in the third quarter, after starter Mark Brunell pulled a hamstring. Ramsey was able to move the offense down the field; however, he threw 3 costly interceptions sandwiched around a touchdown pass to Clinton Portis.

Coach Gibbs also stated that even if Brunell is healthy at the end of the week, he would probably not start Brunell if he did not practice by Wednesday.

Also lost in the Giants game was defensive end Phillip Daniels. Daniels injured his groin in the first half. He attempted to play later in the game, but was unable. The Redskins may be without his services for 2-4 weeks depending on the results of the MRI taken Monday. Third year end Ron Warner will likely start in Daniels’ spot.

Kicker John Hall went into Sunday’s game with a strained left hamstring, and during kickoff coverage aggravated his right hamstring. The Redskins were optimistic about his availability for Monday night's game. Ola Kimrin pushed Hall for the kicking job in the pre-season and was signed to the practice squad late last week as a precaution.
