A Brown Out in Indianapolis

 When tales of an Auburn running back making waves at the combine hit the news wires, many people’s initial reaction was that Cadillac Williams must have been doing well. In reality, it was his college teammate and backup Ronnie Brown making a splash.
The initial read on Brown was that he was more of a power back and Williams was the speed guy. That WAS the read that is, until Brown turned in the second-fastest time in the 40 for a running back behind Cal’s JJ Arrington. Brown ran the 40 in a blistering time of 4.48, blowing the 4.6 time he was expected to run out of the water.
At 6-feet, 230 pounds, Brown was the hammer of Auburns offense. He was brought in to spell Williams in short yardage and goal line situations. He may have been a backup in college, but he could turn out to be the better all-around NFL back if his 40 times can translate into football speed at the pro level. He can run for power, catch the ball out of the backfield, and now it seems he has the speed to turn the corner when running outside of the tackles.
Last season with the Tigers, Brown carried the ball 107 times for 748 yards, including 7 touchdowns. He also caught the ball 25 times for 264 yards and another touchdown.
