Buckeye For A Day? No WayAdding to the Maurice Clarett saga, he was denied access to participate in the Ohio State Pro Day on March 9. Clarett was deemed ineligible by school officials because he was not currently enrolled there and did not play there in the last year. They have also reportedly stated that his presence would be a distraction for the other players.

Clarett is looking for a platform to atone for his poor showing at the combine in Indianapolis. His 40 times were pedestrian at best and - probably worse for a guy trying to revamp his image - he subsequently dropped out of the rest of the combine drills.

As a result of the decision by Ohio State, Clarett will need to find an alternate place to hold a session for NFL scouts. The NFL rules for private workouts indicate that they must take place either at the prospect’s school or in his hometown, meaning that Clarett will be required to hold his workout in the Youngstown, Ohio area.

Appropriately enough, the target date for this workout is April 1.
