Sean Taylor named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Taylor made two key plays late in the game, with the Redskins up by only three points and Carolina inside Redskin territory. On 4th and 6 Taylor tackled Drew Carter two yards short of the first down forcing a turnover on downs. On the Panthers last drive Taylor recorded his first interception of the season, when he came across the field to pick off Jake Delhomme’s pass in the end zone.

Place Kicker signed

The Redskins have signed kicker Shaun Suisham to the practice squad. Suisham, has been on the rosters of the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, was signed on Tuesday. Suisham has played in six games and is 4-of-6 on field goals and 10-for-10 on PATs. WR Ryan Hoag was released from the practice squad to make room for Suisham.
