Draft Selection Order

Postby BossHog » Sun Dec 28, 2003 10:52 pm

Well... with the regular season done... where are we going to pick? I haven't seen any final standings (I guess because the Steelers / Ravens game is still on)

The Redskins finished 5-11...

22 teams finished better than 5-11. If two or more clubs are tied in the selection order, the strength-of-schedule tie breaker is applied. There are 6 teams with 5-11 records, their strength of schedule percentages are indicated...

*- Washington (.531), Atlanta (.539) and Detroit (.535) in the NFC and Houston (.570), Jacksonville (.541) , and Cleveland (.540) fron the AFC... so...

that should mean that...
#23 Houston (.570)
#24 Jacksonville (.541)
#25 Cleveland (.540)
#26 Atlanta (.539)
#27 Detroit (.535)
#28 Washington (.531)

So we should pick 5th.

* All stats from NFL.com

Top 5 should be...

1. San Diego
2. Oakland
3. Arizona
4. NYG
5. Washington

Top 5 picks cost big salary cap dollars.

I think there's an even better chance that the Redskins will try to move down a few spots now that they have a 'valued' pick.

Regardless... we are at least in a position to help ourselves tremendously on draft day. Hopefully, we take advantage of it and come away with some much needed d-line help.
