Rene Knott leaving ABC7 in Washington??????????

Postby redskins56 » Wed Jan 07, 2004 12:09 am

I have read and seen so much about the arrival of new vice prez of sports for Channel 7 Sports Tim Brant... Then watching the telecast tonight, the 6th day of January, Knott signed off with his team thanking him for his hard work, and his classy style...

Rene was and is the best in the market... I hope he is staying with 7, but it doesn't look good... Does anyone know anything else about this? Please enlighten...

There is a rumor going around that he might be all lined up to replace Dave Feldman at WTTG-5. Feldman's contract has a few months left on it and Knott would be there when Feldman's deal isn't renewed.

Knott eyes new gig in St' louis

Rene Knott is expected to depart ABC affiliate WJLA-TV (Channel 7) Friday after almost 12 years as its sports director. His next stop will probably be St. Louis.
Last month, WJLA managers hired ABC Sports announcer Tim Brant as the station's main sports anchor, saying they hoped Mr. Knott would stick around as Mr. Brant's backup.
No such luck. Mr. Knott, a favorite among viewers and colleagues, decided this week to move on.

Rest of story here.

As RF said, the article also mentions WTTG as a possible landing spot.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
