Avatars

Postby BossHog » Fri Jan 09, 2004 2:25 pm

Someone asked, and I figured with all the new faces it would be a good time for explanations.

Avatars are restricted to members that have 100 posts. No other stipulation. This was not done for any other reason than to keep download times down for modem users.

However, we have some pretty awesome avatars we like to think. i will make custom avatars for anyone who reaches 100 posts and of whatever you want. I think if you ask, the guys will tell you that I have pretty much given them exactly what they were looking for.

I am also thinking about allowing avatars for any registered users but i will not even think about that until we have moved the site over to the new server. (which will be soon, but there may be hiccup for a half a day and we sure aren't going to do it in the middle of all of this pandemonium)

So, avatars aren't actually enabled, but when you have 100 posts you can have whatever you want for a pic, as long as it's non pornographic and 100x100. I also don't like pics in sigs either. Again, just to be fair to the modem users. We did kind of reach most of these decisions in a somewhat democratic way. If you click on the Site Info link in the drop down box at the top of the page, you can have a look at a bit about this site and all of the people that help me out. Usually we make decisions collectively.

Also, you will notice a few larger avatars. You can have a 100x200 avatar when you get to 500 posts. The message board is new and growing fast... so these numbers are becoming comical. I think it took DEHog about 3-4 days to get to 100 posts (and I'm working on your avatar). It's a lot easier when there are 4-500 people here instead of 200.

If you have any comments on any of these things, feel free to e-mail me at BossHog@thehogs.net

And incidentally, mods don't get any special favors either... they have to crack 100 too and some of them are lurkers so they still don't have 'em.

Thanks for the info BH! I'll be thinking about what I want for an avatar this weekend... since I'll probably be closing in on 100 by the end of it ;)

I love the site... keep up the great work! :D

BH,

I would like the same type of avatar that you have except a spearhead through ALL division foes. If that is not possible then the one you have will suffice. Thanks!!

Well mine is 100x200, 'cause I have 500 posts, but how about something modified... how's what's there now?

I still want a straw dummy hanging by a noose with a cowboys star on it's chest and arrows sticking out of it... but I figure that's a lot of work, so one of these days I'll rough it up like my smiley face and send it to ya Boss. What image format do you like the best by the by? I know you didn't like .jpg before so just let me know if you want it in .png or some such and I'll send it to ya like that.

Send it in any format, i'll probably just redo it based on waht you send me. But the native file format is always best so if you do it in photoshop, send a photoshop file :-)

That's the first time I've ever seen that idea bud, i don't think you ever sent that to me.

Where is my love, bro? I like the Redskins logo surrounded by the Super Bowl years and on the bottom of the logo, the established year. Just a thought. But I still like "the dog" or something that depicts the real me. Any assless chaps pics?

Wingman could eat Pauly shore in about 2 bites though.

That's me, second from the left. That's Ken Harvey to the right of me and not Russ Grimm to the left of me... it's Wingman.

That's why when he says assless chaps it just make me cry. They don't even make them that big.
