New Wallpaper

Postby BossHog » Sun Jan 11, 2004 12:09 am

Been working on a new Gibbs wallpaper, just wondered what you guys thought. This is just a low res, 800x600 version for bandwidth sake on the board.

I'm still tinkering with it, but I'll post it soon on the Fun Zone board.

I'm only going to do 1024x768, the original pics weren't high enough res to go any higher. I have high standards.

here's the 1024 version, you can just right click and save target as...

I figured i'd post the link since i'm working on some draft stuff now and probably won't get a chance to update the fun zone section until tomorrow.

That works... I only run in 1152x864 here at home and it looks great as my new wallpaper :)

Nope, I'm not actually big into desktop graphics myself, I never get to look at them, trust me there are ALWAYS open applications on my computer hiding my desktop :-)

I'm thinking about trying to render all of our exclusives into XML so that you can retrieve them on a PDA though.

I'm also tinkering with trying to actually use a PDA to post quick one or two sentences to post comments LIVE at camp next year.

But alas, no themes.

Hey Boss:

If you ever want to really expand your horizons and venture into the PDA world....consider developing a "channel" for AvantGo!!

If you haven't heard of it, it's a program PDA users use to download web pages onto their PDA.

It's pretty cool.

Would love to see a "THEHOGS.NET" channel!

You're a busy boy, though, so that is waaaaaay down the road.

I don't work in 140-200 pixel wide environments.... never will.

You want a thehogs.net PDA channel... go nuts!

I've done other stuff for the AvantGo browser, but it's so limited that I find it's not really good for anything but text.

I've got about 20 GIG of redskin data & gfx though, so I'm sure if somebody needs something to make their own theme or shell... I can help you out.

Personally, I'm way too busy.

I read this site all the time using my Treo 600 (Palm OS pdaPhone). It loads pretty fast and looks great! :D

p.s. I know a guy who runs a phpBB site that has a "mobile version" optimized for Palm and PPC. Am I the only one here, at this point, that frequently accesses the site on a wireless PDA type of device? If it gets to be something highly in demand I would be happy to try to help put something together (not that I claim to have any knowledge of how to actually do it... but I know lots of people that do) :)

If this discussion is going to continue I guess we should start a separate thread in the appropriate forum? :)
