Titans game: Winners and Losers

Postby Irn-Bru » Fri Aug 09, 2013 10:05 am

Who are your winners and losers from the Titans game? Mine:

Winners

Chase Minnefield - Showed flashes of greatness, but what really set him apart from our other young DBs was how solid his play was. Great support defending the run.

Fred Davis - He's back, baby.

Kirk Cousins - On track to be a starter somewhere in the NFL. I love watching this kid play.

Losers

Bacarri Rambo - Welcome to the NFL, son.

Desmond Briscoe - Is it just me or did he look like he didn't even want to be out on the field? With a crowded WR corps, it's looking like there is no chance he makes on the final roster — I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in one of the early round of cuts.

Josh LeReibus - He got owned by 2nd and 3rd stringers and at times appeared lost. Not a good sign for someone who seemed to have some promise.

I also thought Rex Grossman was a winner and Pat White only maintained his position. I was surprised to see a thread on THN today saying the opposite . . .

I was one of the people who said that Chase would be contributing well for us, otherwise the team wouldn't have carried him on the roster while he healed up. He played much better than EJ Biggers did in my view.

He reminds me of Carlos Rogers without the apparent clubbed hands.

We love controversy

RGIII or Capt. Kirk as the starter....

Cousins or RG3int as RGIII's backup...

and now RG3int or P. White as the #3

I thought Aldrick Robinson ran much crisper routes than he did last year. Now he just needs to learn to catch the ball.

Same thing was said about Niles Paul last off-season.

I don't know about the crisper routes, but I definitely said Paul needed to learn to catch.

I think we need to add another category:

Schooled

Bacarri Rambo

Welcome to the NFL Bacarri. I like this kid and think he will be great for us over time. He learned a great lesson Thursday night!

Who else should we add to the 'Schooled' category?

Then Orakpo needs to be a the top of that list for that same play. He was the primary person responsible for giving up that 58 yard CJ2K run. He ran right past Johnson.

Yes Rambo got schooled, but his schooling was like high school and Orakpo went to post graduate school on that play.

The refs need to go back to school too.

A late hit "out of bounds" can't start on the field of play. Two terrible late hit penalties (one on the Titans and one on Rambo).

Nah, both were reasonable calls, that would be made more times than not. But the refs did have a terrible night, particularly with the instant replay. They got both reviews wrong, and both benefitted the Titans.
