Hmm, I wonder how long he was playing with that.

Hail to the Redskins!
Re: Kerrigan Has Knee Surgery
Kerrigan should be fine come this September. Notice how some players wait until later in the year so they can miss time. But Kerrigan takes his surgery early so he is ready to play. Wish him fast recovery.

Re: Kerrigan Has Knee Surgery
ALL IN FOR WEEK 1!! v2  Sorry couldn't help myself
Anyway, from what I've read, and Darth even quoted an account of this, is that he's expected to have a fast recovery.
I actually thought Kerrigan did decent this year. You could tell there was something amiss about him, but not it all makes sense. He looked great the first couple of weeks so I'm relieved that there was a medical reason for his "decline" in performance. He's going to light it up next year. Excited!

Ryan Kerrigan says his knee injury not serious
By Mark Maske
September 25, 2013 at 2:45 pm

Ryan Kerrigan, shown here in the season opener against the Eagles, says the knee injury he suffered Sunday against the Lions won’t keep him off the field. (John McDonnell/The Washington Post)
Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan said he planned to participate fully in the Washington Redskins’ practice Wednesday after suffering a slight knee injury during Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions.
“I just banged it up a little bit,” Kerrigan said. “I’m feeling good today, though, and I’m expecting to fully practice.”
Kerrigan said the slight injury “happened toward the end of the game” but “wasn’t bad enough” to force him to leave the game.

Ryan Kerrigan - LB - Redskins
Redskins OLB Ryan Kerrigan said his left knee is near 100 percent.
Kerrigan underwent a scope after the season to repair a torn lateral meniscus he sustained way back in Week 3. He's been running, jumping and cutting.
Kerrigan joins Brian Orakpo and Jason Hatcher as pass rushers in a scheme new head coach Jay Gruden insists will get after opposing quarterbacks more this year.
