I think we had 22 new players, 13 rookies, and reduced the first $100 M payroll to just over $50 M while going 8-8 with Tony Banks at QB.

I think hiring (and keeping) Cerrrato may even trump the Spurrier move......

I'll never forget the Spurrier interview when he stated --- with total sincerity and equal disbelief --- that NFL teams had different gameplans in the preseason vs. the regular season....

In Spurrier's defense, Danny boy was our GM at the time. Danny was the one that championed the drafting and playing of Ramsey his rookie year when he got pummled.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

at that time maybe ... took him a little while to reload and start shooting himself in the foot again

there are times that I wish he'd look down the barrel and pull the trigger ....

give people the authority to do their jobs and support them
'Happy Xmas, you're fired Bruce Allen' would be a good start

Snyder just continues to think that he can make things better here and he wants the credit for making it happen ...

here we go again - the draft is fast approaching and the spin will be in full effect - the fans will start to buy into the possibility that all we need is some defensive upgrades and everything will be fine again ...

WAKE UP PEOPLE - in the last draft he managed, Snyder finds a way to draft Robert Griffin III - possibly the worst NFL draft trade-up value for a QB in NFL history - now, we have a QB and Snyder, the QB guru, is not sure he's worth keeping :shock:



as the season gets closer, many will buy into the "Snyder is just the owner, he doesn't really affect the product on the field ... "
why is it that this franchise can have good players and good coaching but never play to their potential?

Dan Snyder's lack of leadership and terrible management skills is a reality check for all Redskins fans - all of the more successful franchises have owners that allow people with NFL knowledge to manage their franchises - all of the less successful franchises (including the Redskins) can point to their lack of competent leadership as the biggest reason that they fail to make the playoffs each season

another season gets going and after 1 game ...

How the Washington Redskins could have used Pierre Garcon on Sunday.

As dropped pass after dropped pass became the theme of the sputtering Redskins offense, you'd be forgiven for wondering just how different things might have looked if Kirk Cousins had the sure-handed wide receiver at his disposal yesterday. Instead, fans were left to ponder just how the team had gotten to this point.

Despite the losses of Garcon and DeSean Jackson, there was considerable optimism surrounding the Redskins offense, and specifically the passing game. Cousins was coming off a career year, and the addition of Terrelle Pryor, as well as a healthy Josh Doctson, alleviated any concerns the team might have had about the state of the unit. In fact, many thought that there would be noticeable improvement in the red zone.

How quickly things change.

Jamison Crowder, tipped by many as a potential dark horse for the Pro Bowl, had three catches on seven targets on the day, while Pryor was plagued with costly drops while hauling in six catches on 11 targets. Doctson was largely reduced to the role of spectator, as even Jordan Reed struggled at times to get any rhythm going. It's at that time you need a player like Garcon, and the mishaps of the front office, yet again, became all too clear.

On the other side of the country, things were going decidedly better for Garcon. Reunited with Kyle Shanahan, the former Redskins wideout finished the day with six catches for 81 yards, showing exactly the type of reliable target the Redskins sorely missed against the Eagles. With Brian Hoyer as his quarterback, Garcon proved his worth immediately to his new team, as well as to his old one.

The story could very well change as the season moves forward, however if overthrows and interceptions continue to be the norm, the front office will have a lot to answer for
