Slovakia Stuns Russia

We figure that the Olympics are of interest to just about all sports fans and being that we have Redskin fans all over the globe, why not give them a forum to sound off in about their favorite, or least favorite Olympic athletes and events.

Slovakia Stuns Russia

Postby BossHog » Fri Feb 19, 2010 2:54 am

After Canada needed a shootout to beat the Swiss, the Russians lost 2-1 in a shootout to Slovakia. What a night of Olympic hockey.

Ovechkin actually shot THREE times in the shootout - missing twice.

Jaroslav Halak was incredible in goal for the Slovaks making 36 saves and stopping six of the seven penalty shots.

Pavol Demitra set up Marian Hossa for the goal in regulation, and scored the game winning penalty. Zdeno Chara was monstrous for the Slovaks and held Ovi in check for the entire game.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
