Cornerback Walt Harris is still rehabbing a knee injury and will not be available for the start of training camp on Saturday, head coach Joe Gibbs said on Friday.
"He'll continue to work and rehab, but I think he's coming along," Gibbs said. "We'll continue to work with the trainers."

Harris was one of the Redskins' off-season free agency pickups. The 5-11 and 192 pounder played his first six seasons with the Chicago Bears and the past two with the Indianapolis Colts. He has started 113 games and appeared in 118, totaling 601 tackles (435 solo) with 17 interceptions and 124 passes defensed.

Gibbs said there was not a set timetable for Harris.

"With any player like that, you want them to be chomping at the bit and totally healthy," Gibbs said. "They'll normally tell you--particularly guys who have been around as long as he has.

"I talked to him this morning and I told him, 'It's kind of up to you.' Meantime, we're going to give him all the work we can and see how he progresses."

Gibbs said the team will continue to monitor the status of Laveranues Coles' sore right toe. Coles sustained a fracture to the toe during a game last season but continued to play through the season.

Despite plenty of rest this offseason, the soreness has lingered.

"We'll just see how his toe does," Gibbs said. "It's been something that constantly seems to get irritated. What we tried to do is give him a long break. We've done a bunch of stuff in the training room and we've given him new padding for his shoe."
