Ramsey... birth defect????

Postby Jake » Fri Jan 16, 2004 5:54 am

The Post mentioned when recently dismissed trainer Dean Kleinschmidt diagnosed P-Ram on his foot, he did not rule out his injury being a birth defect.

I'm no doctor, but doesnt a birth defect take place IMMEDIATELY after you are born? Why would it take over 20 years to show up on someone?

Maybe that's why Kleinschmidt was fired! J/K :D

I'm no doctor either...

I'm no doctor either but it could have been a malformation of the bone in his foot that simply took 24 years come loose. If it was a bone fragment it could have easily not been a problem until an injury caused it to come free. It also makes sense that a loose bone fragment could be a progressive and chronic injury. Therefore it might not be too painful when it first occurs, but after months of rubbing and grinding it becomes worse and painful.

Hey Chad, I've been wondering, are you the former fullback the Skins used to have in the late 90's named Chad Dukes??
:D

Just wonderin'

I think it's likely that PR's birth defect could've been akin to a double-joint. In a regular, workaday Joe, that extra bone in the foot might never have been noticed. Ramsey, though, clocks a bunch more miles a day than an average person might. I read that it started bothering him in college, but he termed it as more of a mild discomfort that he wrote off to growing pains, or just your average "general soreness". It always went away
Hopefully, it's a moot issue now. I'd love to see how that arm does under Gibbs/Zampese.

Not the same Chad Dukes...But I sure did watch his every move when he was here! I'd love to get his jersey.
