What guys will you all be looking at when watching the Senior Bowl today? I'm going to try to assess as many guys as possible. I'm sure we will get promising prospects from this game as we always do.

greg jones is no joke. if we do trade down in the first, he'd be a pefect guy to look for in the middle of the round. he runs over people. he IS a powerback. i am very impressed with his play.

the guy from FSU looks like a smaller Daryl Gardner but if he is 6 inches from the football DON'T JUMP OFFSIDES !! That guy and the DT from LSU kept biting on the hard snap counts. I was not impressed by anyone in the game.

JerseySkins, you weren't impressed with Phillip Rivers???? I know the guys wouldnt shut up about him and that got on my nerves but he was awesome. He is a good talent.

If we needed a QB I would go for Rivers... he seems to be out of the Pennington mold with a stronger arm...

I know I wish we had gone with Chad when he was in the draft, but we didn't....

i thought Lavalais was awesome, and the thought of him possibly falling to us at #5 in the second round makes my eyes water.

I hope he has the flu at the combine or soething, and his draft stock goes down a little. He's small, so that'll come out at the combine, but man the guy can play and would be a REAL economic fit into one of the DT slots and still allow us to do whatever in the first round.

I tell ya... the hot buzz out of the Senior Bowl was that the Skins really liked Winslow.

I have had my doubts on drafting Winslow for a while. Not that he's not good, but he will be paid too much to not do a lot in this offense. Mark May commented on the same thing about K2 in the Post:

First of all, i'd like to say Greg Jones is a damn beast. I'm officially convinced that taking a RB with #5 is out of the question, when G. Jones will be there at pick 41. I think we should trade Bailey to Detroit, then draft Winslow at #5, and Sean Taylor at #6. Jones in the 2nd round, and Lavalais if he's available in the 3rd. If not, theres that guy with great strength from Oregon, I forgot his name.

i don't think cap space would allow a 5th and 6th overall. we'd have to use one, and trade down or to next year with the other. now if jones is there in the second, i'd be all over that. jones and rivers both had a dominating game, they are the best in the class of seniors and proved it last night. jones was draging THREE tacklers at once. unreal. i liked what i saw. he doesn't seem like a home run hitter, just a hard hitting, running over the secondary power back.(like ricky williams or stephen davis) if we do trade down in the first, he might be a great option.

Believe me, Snyder is a really smart man and i'm sure him and his cap specialists would devise a plan to allow us to have a 5th and 6th pick if the opportunity arises. We would have to make a couple of sacrifices but it's possible. For example, restructuring Chris Samuels' contract would certainly save us millions in cap room. Also, Boss Hog started a thread about how he looked at our cap situation and a couple of mediocre players who cost about 1 mil. each in cap could be cut and be easily replaced.

if we can't get champ, we need a replacment, thats gonna cost. just about any way you look at it, we can't afford to sign two picks that high right now, because of the future problems all these backloaded contracts will cost in the long run. if we have 15 mil in dead cap money two years from now, we be able to field about the same amount of talent as the cheap @$$ cardinals do for other reasons. Shocked

DT Darnell Dockett (FSU) and RB Greg Jones (FSU) were men among boys in that game. Dockett threw the opposing guard whenever he DECIDED to play if he can play hard every play he is gonna be a good one. Jones had that great 22 yard run when he was the upback i was reminded of Riggo on that one breaking 4 tackles and dragging another 3 capping of the drive with a great TD run where he had a nice cut-back with his surgically repaired right knee as he gains confidence on that knee he will only get better and stronger

Yea, im starting to think of Greg Jones as a Ricky Williams type. Hell, he might even be better in my mind. And as for Dockett, we should take a strong look at him in the 3rd round. He might become one of the steals of the draft.
