I'm sorry to see Faris go. I understand why we couldn't keep him though. I hope he's brought back if anybody is hurt.
I wish he could be put on the practice squad but I think thats only for 1 and 2nd year players.

I figure Havner, Ortega, Lefotu, McCune and either Harris or Espy will go to the practice squad.

You can put eight on the PS this year...

NFLPA website wrote:
Beginning with the 2004 NFL regular season, the League may elect to establish practice squads not to exceed eight players per Club. See Article XXXIV, Sec. 1. The League's election in any one season shall not determine or affect its election in any subsequent season.

Wow, nine Defensive Linemen and only two Tight Ends.

I am worried about only having 5 corners! Is that typical?
i think we went with only 4 last year(springs, rogers, harris, jimoh) may be mistaken

as far as only 2 TE's, sellars lined up as a TE in in a couple sets last year. so maybe thats it.

I could see it coming, but too bad about McCune and White. Disappointing.

I've always heard that good teams try not to replace more than 10-12 guys from one year to another. In our case you identified 18 but less than a handful are starters, the others are for depth and Special Teams.

Here's how I'd break them down:

2 Wr's -- starters
1 TE -- replaces Royal and depth
3 OLine -- replaces Ray Brown/depth
3 DLine -- 1 starter & 2 depth
2 linebackers -- replace LeVar/depth
5 Db's -- 1 starter to replace Clark & 4 depth/Steams
1 RB -- short yardage
1 QB -- when brunnel pulls a hammy talking in the huddle!
