Lavar at the Funeral.
Guys it was good to see so much support for Sean T. I know Sean touched so many lives.
Also it was good to see Lavar at the funeral honoring Sean Taylor. I think he is gonna come back to the skins. Seriously I would not be surprised if the Skins offer Lavar a contract and welcome him back. I really have a strong feeling about this.
In light of all the pain and sorrow, I do believe the organization will gain strength and maturity from this tragedy.
Redskins nation we must turn tragedy into triumph.

Is Arrington even healthy enough make a return to the NFL?
Even if his injuries aren't a factor, he definitely didn't appear to be very well conditioned (as evidenced by his extra-baggy suit).
I think Mr. Arrington is very happily retired from the NFL.

With the loss of Taylor, I think it will help the Redskins nation to see him return to his former greatness.
Lavar loved Sean Taylor as everyone did. If Lavar were to return it would really help the teams spirit.
I think in times like this you put certain things in proper persective. Like the dispute between Lavar and the front office. I really think they should be able to bury the hatchet and maybe he will be able to come back.
I am really hoping Lavar comes back. Yes its still a long shot, but it is possible. Return home Lavar you are needed more than ever.

Longshot to say the least, IF he came back it would be to retire a Redskin.
I think his playing days are over, actually those days ended before he left Washington. He had two knee surgeries while playing in Washington, and only played in ten games the last two years as a Redskin (4 in 04' and six in 05). He tore his achilles tendon in New York and played 6 games for them. After his release he not only broke his arm but also broke his leg in three places. That's a minimum of four operations and a maximum of 16 games in 4 years. 30 is young but he's done

I think that Sean's death touched Lavar in a way that he will be more visible around the guys and the organization. Coming back, not gonna happen. That accident ended his career and as you could see from the way he was moving after leaving the podium, he's not getting around well enough to even step on a football field...

Dude, you're funny. I know you're serious, but isn't it time to give this one up? Even if there were interest there (which I SERIOUSLY doubt), no way Snyder would give the chance to the washed up player who called him a liar and a cheater as he stormed out the door. Even if the dream lives on in your heart. Even if Arrington had the desire and the physical ability to try again. Arrington torpedoed the bridge after he crossed it.

Lavar will be offered a contract to play for the Skins the same day Snyder personally extends a contract offer to Danny Wuerffel and reintroduces the Gator Contingent to DC, IMO.
That being said, Lavar's words moved me. He was very sincere, and I DO hope he gets around the guys who he played with in DC. They would be a very good influence on him, and vice versa.

Because you say so? I'd like to see a quote to that effect or is this just lip service?
Lavar took a multi-million dollar pay hit and REDID his contract to FACILITATE the Redskins cutting him like THEY WANTED TO.
Snyder cares about NOTHING but money, so he should actually like that...
I don't disagree with the overall sentiment of your post, but to paint Lavar as 100% the bad guy in his departure is short-sighted at best...
Lavar's reaction yesterday was real, and heart felt, and to taint it with some bogus recollections of the past is just demeaning.
He may not have always been everything that everyone wanted him to be as a Redskin, but he bled burgundy and gold like few others... and to me, he has never stopped.
I don't think that he can ever get back to football, but i'd sure as heck love to see bridges mended, pride swallowed, and Lavar welcomed around Redskin park.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

Lavar's time at the podium brought my to tears, I can't even paint it any other way. I really felt for the guy and I pray that he's able to rebuild his relationships.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

Seriously, would that really suprise anyone? I'm sure we are right on time for another classic Redskins front office blunder. Nothing would suprise me at this point, I'm just wondering what it will be.

Um...what I said was Lavar "torpedoed the bridge." The bridge is a metaphor for the ability to go back to where you came. It does not mean "Total Situation." So your statement I painted "Lavar as 100% the bad guy" just is a fabrication.
You're also wrong that's my view. I thought they both remembered the parts of negotiations they wanted to. But Snyder didn't go to the press and file a complaint that LaVar was a liar.
What I do remember though was Snyder saying how upset he was at being publicly called a liar and the main reason he was vehemently fighting LaVar's claim was that to give into it would be implying that he was. Is Danny going to do anything TO LaVar? I'm sure not. Does it sound like someone who would go hire him back? No to me. Is it "proof?" No. It's a lot more support then the majority of posts on the board have though.

Wait a second! Cutting Lavar was not a front office blunder. They got cap relief for a player they no longer thought was worth the money they were paying him.
AND THEY WERE RIGHT!
As far as him coming back. I would be fine with that if it was as a low paid (relatively) pass rushing specialist. But I don't think his body would even alow that. Now that is just a guess based on the fact that he has only played 6 games since the Skins let him go and had a really bad accident since his last game as a Giant.
His speach was moving. I thought it was classy of him to include his love of his former teamates as well as Sean in his speach too.

Gee thanks, where would we be without your brilliant insight and ability to dumb things down for us lesser folk.
Metaphor? Well, using rhetorical figures is to be expected of an argument based solely in rhetoric.
You're also wrong that's my view. I thought they both remembered the parts of negotiations they wanted to. But Snyder didn't go to the press and file a complaint that LaVar was a liar.
Snyder came out $6.5M ahead... Lavar $6.5M behind... wonder if that had anything to do with it?

What I do remember though was Snyder saying how upset he was at being publicly called a liar and the main reason he was vehemently fighting LaVar's claim was that to give into it would be implying that he was. I guess there's no accountability to the guy who removed a $6.5M bonus from a contract. Funny how Snyder and Lavar were always reported as 'close' until it came time for the Redskins to pay a $6.5M roster bonus.
If Lavar called Snyder a cheater and a liar as it pertaned to him, would he be wrong? Did they not cheat him out of a bonus? I guess it doesn't matter that the LEAGUE found enough culpability with the Redskins that it was 'settled' out of court. Did they not lie to him and tell him that he'd be a Redskin forever WHEN HE RE-SIGNED THE CONTRACT THE YEAR BEFORE AND FREED UP SOME MUCH NEEDED CAP?
But of course... the organization gets a pass right?
If Lavar burned or 'torpedoed' a bridge, it was only after the Redskins renegged on the contract to build it.
And none of that even remotely softens the impact (for me) of a rugged man standing at a podium crying over a fallen comrade. I've PERSONALLY seen countless acts of kindness on his part. I don't need the media to tell me how I should feel about him - i already know... Lavar's a class act IMO - and his genuine sorrow and pain yesterday only proved it that much more.

Remember when Sean was first drafted, it was his first day at camp, and they reported that Lavar and other veterans had tied him up and put shaving cream on Sean's face. Problem was it got into his eyes and he missed the next practice.
So sad we're talking about memories about this man. I remember after the Tampa game being so excited that Sean was supposed to come back next week, the next week I'm watching him go into the ground.
Sad.

Funny how people only remember that the Redskins cut him for cap relief and not that lavar NEEDLESSLY re-did his contract completely to allow them to do so. He lost millions doing so. Millions that he could have just kept and screwed the Redskins on the contract that they had already agreed to years before.
Without him doing so... we'd have had millions and millions more in dead cap AND WOULDN'T LIKELY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO JETTISON THE CONTRACT.
