New DC wants CB 1st round?
I'm sure a lot of you heard Blache's interview where he basically said "A lot of people disagree with me, but I think corners who can cover is the most important part of your defense."
Is anyone else a little disapointed? Don't get me wrong, I know corners are highly coveted by every coach, look at their salaries and where they go in the draft. But one of the only saving graces I could take from Williams' firing was that maybe a new D-coordinator or head coach would build this defense from the TRENCHES out--the way you're supposed to.
With Carlos and Rocky's health uncertain, Springs' contract and Smoots fragility, not to mention the senseless murder of our best player, I think the easiest way to mask some of our deficiencies is to generate a genuine pass rush.
I am sure Blache has a full understanding of defense, and im sure with coaching D-lines he definitely knows the value that an elite unit can deliver for a defense, but I was just hoping his answer would go something along the lines of "If the qb doesn't have time to throw, coverage doesn't really mean all that much."
PS:Maybe he has a point.A good CB in the first and well probably draft Grove or Jackson. But than that means it all comes down to FA and we could be looking to get Suggs or Smith. But I would get Suggs and just draft a WR in the second.

Let me tell you this, if we have a chance for Antuan Cason (I think) from Univ. of Arizona. He is awesome. Put it this way, I would own his Jersey. He is super good and I would support that pick 100%.

What if he came from the U?....Just kidding. I think we have met our limit. We need a few NC State guys.

I would like us to go after a guy like Tank Tyler. We could get him in the early 2nd round should we find someone to trade down with.

I say we should be smart and become smart.Lets just draft Harvey we need a pass rush ,and if we fell like getting a CB than we should draft a CB in the 2nd round..........Like we need to get Flowers from Vtech he is by far the best hard hitting safety Ive seen Green.
So as for a WR maybe we should trade a 3rd and 4th to trade up and get a 2nd round to get a wr.
Wish I was the GM.

Shudder. Sorry, didn't mean to say that out loud. Carry on.

So...you're saying that in comparison, you're happy we have Vinny Cerrato, then?
