| James Hardy is a must have for the redskins and will be available at the 21st pick. He is a man beast and the big (and i do mean big) possesion wide-reciever we have been dreaming about. Malcolm Kelley and Limas Sweed are good recievers but Hardy will go over the middle and dish out punishment- create mismatches in the secondary and provides a huge target at 6-6 for jc to throw to. The most important quality is his redzone presence. We had so much problems in the redzone because the tallest target is 6-3 cooley. When there is so many players jammed into a little area you need a bigger target than CC and a string of 5-9/5-10 recievers. He is a must have. Regardless if the skins dont get a big target with their first pick ( all will be gone by the 2nd) and get a DE( a need that can be filled in the 2nd rnd) im gona puck all over myself and come to the conclusion that the skins dont wanna be productive on offense- EVER- big targets are a MUST in a west coast offense. |

I agree 100% with the need for a big receiver. I'm just wondering why you prefer Hardy over Sweed and Kelly? Kelly (6'5) and Sweed (6'4) have similar size to Hardy, but imo are more polished in terms of route running and are probably more prepared to contribute as rookies. |

I'm not sold on Hardy's hands. Being 6'6" means nothing without good route running and good hands. Any speed at that size is an added bonus but certainly not a requirement. I think most Redskins fans would rather have Sweed but he'll be long gone. Oddly enough, one mock draft has Desean Jackson and Devin Thomas being drafted ahead of Sweed, Kelly and Hardy. The same mock has the Redskins taking Malcolm Kelly with the 21st pick. That same mock has Sweed going at #24 and Hardy going at #36. Anything could happen. |

Great! Another thread for a potential receiver in the draft.

Agreed. Kelly has an incredible vertical and can out jump most of the competition. I'll bet Kelly at 6'5 can out leap Hardy. Also, Kelly has the best hands in this class and is probably the most physical. As I've said before, Kelly comes from a West Coast system, making him the most attractive receiver for the Skins. Sweed could fill in nicely as well.
| Quote: | | Kelly is a big, physical, intimidating receiver who uses his body well to shield the ball away from opponents. Possesses some of the best hands in the draft and is not afraid to catch the ball in traffic. Coupled with his size, Kelly is an extraordinary leaper, which is why he wins most one on one match ups. Can run after the catch and is very tough to bring down by just one defender. |
If they were to draft a DE in the 1st and get lucky with Hardy in the 2nd, then I'd be happy with Hardy. But I believe it would take a lot of luck for Hardy to be there when we pick in the 2nd. I also believe the 2nd round DE talent will be better than the 2nd round WR talent, if that makes sense.
| Quote: | | 2008 DE Class: The class is ... potentially terrific. If Chris Ellis really is the tenth best end to come out of this class, the position will be the draft's strength. Two huge, make-or-break calls are out there in Calais Campbell and Tommy Blake, but there are enough sure-things in Phillip Merling and Derrick Harvey to balance things out. Chris Long is a prospect to build an entire defense around. |
A dream for me would be Kelly in the 1st and possibly DE Lawrence Jackson in the 2nd. |

| I like Hardy a lot, but I think we have bigger needs at DE, WR for the 2nd round. |
