I think that the guy doing this mock doesn't really have much of a clue, but thought I'd post this nonetheless.

He has us taking Quention Groves, DE Auburn with the 21st pick.

Quote:
A receiver or a safety makes sense, but the Redskins only have one pass rusher on the team. Andre Carter needs a pressure player on the opposite side in third-down situations. Groves might be a better fit in a 3-4 scheme, but he gets up the field as well as anyone left on the board. He started 38 games and had 62 plays behind the line of scrimmage (sacks and tackles for a loss), plus he forced eight fumbles.

Most of the mock draft guys don't have a clue. If they did they would be GM's.

The "experts" can't even agree on offense or defense, much less the position. So, how are they supposed to have a clue about the specific player?

These bozos do not know much about the players really. That has been obvious to many of us for a while Laughing
That is also part of the reason it is called a "mock" draft, there is very little about these "predictions" that is taken seriously by the people that matter.

As much as McShay and Kiper disagree, they usually end up having something similar by the draft because they talk to the teams and whatnot. Both of them already have Groves out of the first, so i don't see this happening.

I see a few mocks having us taking DeSean Jackson. I'd be really surprised if we went that route (yay another fast midget receiver!).

He's a bit light with regard to lbs., but he is listed at 6'0, so he's not that short. He does have excellent return skills as well. I think he would be far better than ARE at returning punts. Folks in Tampa are really high on Jackson and the media over there thinks Gruden will draft him. They also run a version of the WCO. Now, they do have Michael Clayton who is listed at 6'4, so maybe they feel they already have their big possession guy and could use some speed. But I agree with you to a large degree, in that I'd be surprised to see the Skins draft him. The only way I see Jackson being available when we pick is if Sweed, Kelly and Thomas were already off the board, and I don't see it playing out like that. But who knows?

He's not 6'0", even though he was listed as such. He measured out at 5' 9" at the combine.

Here you go:

Quote:
California WR DeSean Jackson measured in at a disappointing 5-foot-9, 167 pounds; Jackson was listed at 6-foot, 170-pounds at Cal.

Draft Quote Of The Day:

Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson was particularly astounded by the rush of wide receivers chosen in the first round. In order, SportsNation drafted Malcolm Kelly, Limas Sweed, DeSean Jackson, James Hardy, Mario Manningham, Devin Thomas and Early Doucet.

"Some would argue that this year's draft does not have a wide receiver worthy of a first round selection," Williamson said, "yet SportsNation selected a whopping seven wide outs in the first frame. SportsNation is obviously more familiar with skill players and have routinely seen highlights of these players on SportsCenter. Offensive linemen like Brenden Albert and Chris Williams obviously are not household names and thusly, were vastly devalued. While I give SportsNation a pass on this to some extent, I can't completely let it slide. If free agency taught us anything, linemen are at an extreme premium.

Shocked Wow! Damn, that IS pretty short. I wonder who mucked up and listed him a 6'0. Geez...

Then you're right, we don't that kind of receiver.

i dont know about you guys, but i'm really hoping we draft Limas Sweed. I mean even his name is BA. When ever i think of Campbell throwing to a #11 jersey with Sweed writen on the back, i just get excited.
