Its about Time Edwards used his freakin head to get Mitchell on the field!!!!!!!!

Washington Post

Quote:
The Redskins utilize a four-lineman, three-linebacker setup as their base defense but switch to a 3-4 at times to keep offenses off balance. When the team was searching for help at defensive tackle before the season, there was talk within the organization of using a 3-4 scheme more regularly to get reserve linebacker Kevin Mitchell on the field alongside Arrington, Jessie Armstead and Jeremiah Trotter. Some members of the organization believe the Redskins should utilize a 3-4 setup more often to get their linebackers better involved in the pass rush.

"We've used it in the past," Edwards said. "We'll see. We're in the early stages right now of [preparing for] Buffalo, and we're going to run what we deem necessary to get them stopped."

The Redskins could have other lineup changes on defense forced upon them this week because of injuries to cornerback Fred Smoot and tackle Jermaine Haley

Personally, I don't think there will be too many 'sweet' things about trying to change defensive schemes mid-season. While I don't dispute we have the manpower to pull off the alignment... these are decisions you make in Training Camp... not 6 games in.

Where the heck is laDairis Jackson?

^^ I read that they want him suited up ASAP. I'm not going to complain about this 3-4 thing until I see it in action. I agree with you Boss, almost no good can come of switchin up this far into the season, but you never know.

With our corners and our LBs we would be fine. Unlike Pitiful Steelers our corners are fast enough to bump off and recover. All of our games we got beat on short dump off pass and screens killed us. The 3-4 stops all that crap and with the speed our LBs we would dominate. LA would have 2 sacks a game because the 3-4 makes it harder to pick up blocks so someone is free. Hey whatevers works if it dont switch back I dont think we will go cold turkey, I bet it wouldbe used for certain situations.

One more thing Edwards needs more zone coverage underneath with LBs . Arrington needs to calm down and stop over pursuing. Play smart not tart.
