My vote for QB if we drafted one would be Clausen.
If the season continues the way it is going. Then we should have a high draft spot. I also think Jimmy Clausen is a once in a decade prospect. He has the physical tools and his leadership on the field is outstanding.

Clausen is a jr this year. Has he hinted about declaring early?

I think he will declare early. Since his stock is hot why not? Just saying if he does declare early I want the Skins to take him.

There are plenty of Oline help via free agency and draft. The once in a decade prospects I just could not pass on personally. Obviously if we have a competent GM in place he can take care of filling the roster.

If we have Vinny well all this talk is just hot air. Mad

Him and Locker are top fifteen picks right now, even with Bradford. He could still come back next year and be consensus #1 possibly. I think he'll leave early.

Jake Locker looks good, but I do agree that Clausen has the tools that are needed to step in and do what Campbell can't.

I think that with what happened to Bradford this year and the possibility of a lockout in 2011, more juniors than usual will declare for the draft. Also, if Charlie Weiss doesn't return there is very little chance of Claussen going back for his senior year.

You can never say never, but it's rare a Notre Dame player comes out early so your thought to wait until he actually starts to discuss coming out is prudent.

I don't think that there is any QB in this years draft that I would put on the field. The closest, and he would have to have a damn good O line, great running game and awesome WR's, would be Colt McCoy. My reason is his experience. He's got amazing touch on the ball. I associate him with Drew Brees based off size, quicking thinking, etc. Tebow isn't ready to be an NFL QB and Bradford concerns me with his shoulder. Clauson needs another year IMO and Locker is gonna need to sit for a few and learn. He's a player who could go to a program like Houston or Jacksonville where they don't need a new QB this year but in a few, could possibly use one.

The loss to Navy this past Saturday virtually guarantees that Claussen is coming out early. With that loss and no BCS bowl, Weiss is done at Notre Dame and I highly doubt that Claussen would pass on being a first round pick to go back and play his senior season under a new head coach. Stranger things have happened, but I just don't seen how he possibly goes back to South Bend.

There are a number of QBs that are going to be available that could be considered likely to be very good NFL QBs - the problem is not finding a great QB or begining to find the pieces of a dominant offensive line or a great secondary or a great pass rushing front 7 ...

the problem here is identifying the players that can become a team and a coaching staff that can mould and bring these players together and into 1 team Very Happy

it's going to be kind of interesting to see how Snyder will 'package' this scenario into a sure-fire "playoffs, here we come" offering in the next 6 months Laughing

I will say that if we do end up with a chance to bring in a cannot miss, sure to be great, QB then we have to take him - IF we had a decent bunch of talent evaluators here, I'd say we could take the super offensive lineman with the first pick and let the super scouts find us a Brady type in the 4th or 5th round - but we do not have even good scouts so that is just a dream ...

I'm not concerned if the future HOF QB has to sit for a while or plays right away - Aikman didn't do too badly after playing behind a worse line than we have right now - so, if we can somehow get rid of some of the reasons we are in this amount of doo - then go ahead and start getting the future HOF players in here - looks like a pretty high pick right now Laughing

It would be good if Clausen came out... and the Redskins were in a position to take him...

They did ok with their last ND QB...

OTOH... who the heck is going to protect his blind side?

Oh, you haven't heard of him? Well, no one has yet, but I assure you — he's good enough that he'll be an NFL starter by this time next year!

Uggh, I hate ND. I'll have to start watching them to give my opinion and that makes me sick to my stomach
