Re: Season Ticket Account #1624700: Sec 425Row 21 Seats 15,16,17,18
Dear Mr. Snyder:
As a lifelong Redskin fan, and a season ticket holder since 2000, I am fed up with your ownership and management of the Washington Redskins.
You have wrapped yourself in a cocoon of PR people and are fantastic at passing the blame. But after 10 years, it is clear to me that blame for the organization’s current woes lie at your feet.
You inherited Norv Turner. Not great coach, but a good man. You proceeded to publicly humiliate him. You fired him mid-season and replaced him with Terry Robiske, who never had a chance. You then hired Marty Schottenheimer—a 180 philosophical turnaround. Ball control. He did amazing work to fix your salary cap disaster. You fired him after an 8-8 season. What would you give for 8-8 now, sir?
Next you chased the shiniest coach entering the NFL. Steve Spurrier—king of the college wide open offense. Another 180 turn for the organization. Of course, that ended in disaster. But you managed to re-hire Joe Gibbs. A good hire at the time, but yet another 180 turn back to ball control run-before-passing football.
The next hire proceeded oddly. You gutted Gibbs’ personnel and hired Zorn as offensive coordinator—before hiring the head coach! Who does that? In the end, it appears you couldn’t persuade a quality coach to step up, so you promoted Zorn to head coach. A 2-step jump from QB coach.
Now things are going badly, and you blame Zorn? You publicly humiliate him by stripping him of play-calling? Do you actually believe your next favorite is failing to observe this fiasco? Is a Gruden or Cowher going to subject himself to this circus of an organization?
Hell, no.
So I can only conclude that this mismanagement will continue until we have a new owner and GM. Not a new coach or offensive coordinator or playcaller in the sky box. Or new PR people or parking lot attendants or soda jerks.
I don’t have any say in who owns the Redskins, but I do have a say in where I spend my dollars. I have been a season ticket holder for the past decade. I have road-tripped from Williamsburg, VA dozens and dozens and dozens of times. I have purchased $8 beers in the stands and a closet full of official Redskin merchandise. I have spent minimum $30,000 on tickets alone and probably upwards of $50,000 with food, beverage, and merchandise. That doesn’t include gas and lost weekends away from my family.
No more.
As a Redskins fan, I cannot spend any more money with the Snyder organization. I will cheer my team from home. Or Charlotte, or Philadelphia, or at the Hall of Fame. But not at Fedex Field, where fans can no longer even voice their dissent with you.
Please take this as official notice that I do not intend to renew my season ticket account #1624700.
And go to Hell.
,

Very nice and welcome to the board!
I too agree, that if there are enough of this type of letter, that an impact will be made.
I am doing all that I can from here in Ohio. I cancelled my Sunday Ticket and can only watch the "games" at a bar or with another board member's help.
I refuse to buy any more jerseys or any other products in which the Redskins/Snyder may profit.
I was actually called twice this Spring by the Redskins telling me that I was finally able to purchase my long awaited season tickets. No thanks! I absolutely refused to buy season tickets for my beloved team of 25+ years only because their owner is pocketing millions while we, the fans get to watch an absolute joke of a product. Not exactly what I call a good investment, especially when coupled with the fact that buying those tickets would require that I spend a lot of weekend away from my family. There is no way that it would be worth it, not unit drastic/major changes are made, starting at the top. |

What a horribly written letter. I hope he's not really a lawyer, he'd suck at it. And his rendition of history is dubious. He didn't humiliate Norv who sucked way too many years before getting fired and what was he talking about Robinski not getting a chance, hello, he was an interim coach.
The best way to get Danny's attention would be to focus on the here and now. Focus on that mediocrity broken by periods of sucking is Cerrato's legacy and accountability starts in the FO. And he needs to have respect for his organization, like not publicly hiring someone to call the plays over his HC. That gives him something actionable. Saying you're bitter over Robinski and Norv says you're hopeless and he shouldn't try. |

Dude, are you lost? How cares about a perfect historlical account of who was hired and fired during Snyder's tenure... truth is that from the very first day Danno has owned this franchise it has sucked badly.
That a seat paying fan, after 10 years having to put up with this crap, decides to post a heartfelt missive should not be denegrated at all.
I think it is a clear focus of the "hear and now." Hope many other season ticket holder s decide not to renew.
Hail! |

Well done David!!!
People are voting with their feet. These are not anonymous messages anymore. They are signed by actual people who have the courage to stake their ground.
This is the only way: hit Danny on the revenue side! |

I think this hits it right on the head. Still support the Redskins, can no longer support the Snyder Organization. My cousins and I turned in 8 seats prior to the season. Welcome to the club. I just wish I had been as eloquent expressing my frustrations when I cancelled my tickets. I went to college in Williamsburg, so I even know where you office is located. |

My guess ...
1. synder wont even get to see the letter
2. you'll get some computer-generated bs reply thanking you for your time, support ... blah blah blah.
maybe if the skins have to start asking the nfl for blackout ticket sales extensions then synder may start to take notice ... until then its business as usual |

Love it! But unfortunately I think that after the first sentence he will throw it in the trash can. He just couldn't bring his blind, arrogant self to read about how terrible of a job he has done.
I hope more fans do this. I don't have season tickets, but I have stopped buying Redskins merchandise, I tell everyone not to go to Six Flags (not that it isn't in bad enough shape already) or Johnny Rockets. I refuse to give money to Dan Snyder. |

Another great post by Kazoo.....
I would re-read the letter -- because you missed the overall point (and he addressed a number (or all) of the things you wanted him to include). It brings up good points dealing with the fact that Snyder has consistently brough inconsistency to the organziation -- ultimately hindering its ability to win. |
