OL Campbell from MD

Postby fredp45 » Sat Feb 27, 2010 11:29 am

The guy has made some serious cash his first day at the Combine.

WOW -- he is a stud athlete. Running like a TE. His bench press was very impressive for someone 6'7". His high jump was scary.

Not sure all that translates into stud LOT for 10 years...but the guy has made the most of this "interview."

Yeah. He's gonna be a boom or bust guy. As the analyst have said this a.m. he was very inconsistent on the field.

Trent Williams 4.88 40 time

But did anyone see Okungs bench #'s - 39 reps. Thats about 10 more than the other ones proj. in the 1st round.

Except for Campbell who had 34 reps and is 6'7"! That's pushing 225 lbs -- 34 times, a long way -- nearly 3 feet!

Heyer was just an UFA. Just b/c he played at MD doesn't mean that Campbell can't play. He's not my fav. but he's got talent.

I didn't mention him because I wanted us to draft him, I think Okung is a safer pick. I'd be fine if traded down and got Campbell though.

I want no part of Campbell. He's super inconsistent and doesn't come from a good program so he is going to need to be coached up quite a bit. Not worth a first round pick.

Yeah. I agree canes but if you could get him in the 2nd round - then there is some value there because you've either got a starting RT or quality backup LT. Of course you want a starter in the 2nd round but that's just me.

I'm glad to come on here from chicago and see that you guys are not in love with guy because he's from MD. I've seen his video and he seems to be very inconsistant. Seems stiff on pass pro

I think if you have a very good team with good talent and maybe an older tackle who is going to retire soon, he may be a good pickup if you can afford the luxury of that scenario.

Agreed. Think Seattle with Walter Jones would be a great fit

He'll be long, long gone by the 2nd tound. His workout #'s will get him picked early, probably top 10.

Campbell is not going in the top 10. Way too much of a project to be taken that high. He'll likely go towards the end of the 1st.
