Redskins trade down with the Patriots

Patriots receive:
» Seventh-round pick (No. 208):
Thomas Welch

Redskins receive:
» Seventh-round pick (No. 229):
Erik Cook
» Seventh-round pick (No. 231):
Selvish Capers

Analysis: The Patriots further bolstered their depth along the offensive line with Welch, a tight end-turned-tackle. The Redskins hope they have done the same with the two picks they received from the Patriots, adding a center (Cook) and tackle (Capers) to their roster.

Redskins trade Campbell to Raiders

Raiders receive:
» Quarterback Jason Campbell

Redskins receive:
» 2012 fourth-round pick

Analysis: With Donovan McNabb now the starting quarterback in Washington, Campbell became expendable. The Raiders, meanwhile, were looking for an upgrade at quarterback after former No. 1 overall pick JaMarcus Russell was benched last season. More ...

Dolphins move in to snag Georgia safety

Dolphins receive:
» Fifth-round pick (No. 163):
Reshad Jones

Redskins receive:
» Sixth-round pick (No. 174):
Dennis Morris
» Seventh-round pick (No. 219)
:
Terrence Austin

Analysis: The Dolphins continue to upgrade their secondary, this time with a player who had 11 career interceptions in college and earned a reputation as an explosive hitter. The Redskins countered by selecting tight end 11 picks later.
