In the words of Ed Mcmahon "Haha ha ha yes your right sir"

I would venture to say that nothing is going to ruin this thing for us. Some how we will survive this. (knocking on wood)

Just when most of us were happy as hell we get this. I am still wondering how much this effects the Cowboys. 10 mil for them might be a big deal.

Clayton said if we take half the hit this year, we would still have about $18 million. The $10 million puts the Cowboys over the cap so they actually got screwed more than we did it appears.

Thank you and I do feel a bit better

What baffles me is how this punishment gets handed out just 24 hours before free agency starts. That just couldn't happen without deliberate malicious and vindictive intent on the part of the league office. Oh wait, I'm not baffled anymore.

The contracts were obviously so clever that the league didn't spot what was going on at the time?

And it was all so obvious that the press have been talking about it for weeks, surely?

Maybe I don't read as much as I should, but this has just come totally out of the blue to me.

Utter garbage.

I wonder if this in any way affects our trade with the Rams. Apparently the NFL and NFLPA agreed on these penalties after news of the trade surfaced.

Schefter is reporting the Cowboys lose 10 Million while our team will lose 36 million!!!!! Geez Louise!!!!!!!!!!!

The only good news is that in can be split over 2012 and 2013. So that does leave us with some options. I am sure 1Niksider can bring more to the table then I could but Ill give it a go.

We had 40 million in cap space. If we split the penalty of 36 we now have 40 minus 18 which gives us 22 million this year to spend if we choose. Since this years class of free agents is full of guards and a couple of receivers we could still land our free agents we want. We could still actually push the penalty and take the brunt of the punishment next year if we choose to do so. While giving us freedom next year to dump unneeded players and salaries.

It is UK. That is what gets me to. The league hates us and if we deserve it why didn't someone say anything at the time or between now and then?

The NFL Sends Confusing Messages in Salary Cap Penalties

Postby Shaner021 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 4:02 pm

Redskins' fans,

The NFL is sending fans confusing messages by penalizing the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins for "manipulating" the 2010 uncapped year.

http://sports-kings.com/downanddistance ... penalties/

I personally don't get it, but I'm sure the NFL lawyers have already determined the legality of it all.

I am now glad the Redskins gave up two first round draft choices. They couldn't afford to pay those would be players the money now anyway.

Snyder and the team has to sue each and every other team and the NFL in federal court for Racketeering. If I was Dan Snyder I would cut every player on the team right now and forfeit the season. I wonder how the NFL Owners and Management would like the loss of all the TV contract money?

"A pattern of illegal activity carried out as part of an enterprise that is owned or controlled by those who are engaged in the illegal activity. The latter definition derives from the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Organizations Act (RICO), a set of laws (18 U.S.C.A. § 1961 et seq. [1970]) specifically designed to punish racketeering by business enterprises."

The NFL stole $36 million from the Redskins. The NFL is Guilty.

I read that the other owners wanted Dan and Jerry to be disciplined for breaking that informal agreement.

Did the Redskins sign up to any agreement, formal or informal?
