Oooh, this is a fun game, I wanna play:
Cousins as mentor and insurance policy
Look ma, I can pick random opinion on the Cousins decision, too
Hi my name is balance perspective!
No stupid, Cousins is a smart insurance policy because, i'm not Mel Kiper and I have a brain, even though I trash the Skins every chance I get.

I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

How do you know he won't? When will Romo win a game after week 16 should be a bigger worry for all the Redskins HATers.
Two years from now if either question remains unanswered, He'll still be worth more than the 2012 fourth round pick it took to get him.
FTR: J. Campbell was traded for a future pick, that turned into two picks two years later. This front office knows what it's doing. For the troll that don't get it.... We all knew you wouldn't, and you can stop proving us right anytime you want.

Bad week to be the poster. Not only do the Skins take the lead in the NFC East, but Cousins proves his worth, and the Browns lose big time, underscoring yet again how huge it was that they lost the chance to draft RGIII.
He's been proven wrong in so many ways I have to believe even he suspects something is off . . .

JiveTurkee wrote:Drafting Cousins was a smart move. It gives them protection against injury. (Sorry John Beck didn't cut it). And if RGIII goes down and Cousins shines, then he would get offers from other teams and the Redskins could trade for some draft picks in the future. Jimmy Johnson did it in '89 w/Aikman and Walsh. Then traded Walsh away for some draft picks. Someone brought up Lynn Dickey and Dan Pastorini. Same thing.
This guy...

If i was RG3 i will ask for a trade right now
Between this and the "Cousins starts we lose" thread............. not a good week of "predictions/foresight" for fusho2.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Sometimes, you're wrong... and sometimes, you're still wrong.

Our FO/scouts made a decision to take a QB because they thought he would be able to help this franchise
Before the draft, our greatest need was at QB - we drafted RG3![]()
we ALSO drafted Cousins .. in the hope that we NEVER need to see Grossman play QB here again
we now have depth at the QB position - that cannot be a bad thing
Just for some context, in 1994 (?) Mel Kiper:
- praised Heath Shuler and Trent Dilfer as best of the best, can't miss QB's
- decided that Shuler was the star QB the Redskins had never had in the Gibbs years
- complained that the ex-Baltimore Colts were insulting him by NOT drafting a QB after dumping Jeff George and then drafting Marshall Faulk

thanks welch - you do have a knack for keeping things in perspective
I thought that Cousins put this franchise in a pretty good position today ...
obviously, we can choose to go forward with these 2 QBs for another year or so ...
OR ................
it's going to be an interesting off season again ...

Apart from some stupid fans, nobody really expects the Redskins to do well - The Redskins need to get rid of Bruce Allen & bring in a new President and GM with the authority to rebuild this franchise
Thankfully, Kirk Cousins is no longer the QB

Why stop there

After missing out on RGIII they gave up a fourth, fifth and seventh round pick to move from No. 4 to No. 3 to draft a guy that has about 400 less in rushing yards and a YPC avg that is more than a yard lower than a guy the Redskins drafted in the sixth round (could have picked him up in the 4th or 5th rd had they not moved up ONE spot). Trent only has about 150 yards more than RGIII
