Ya know, I like Spurrier!!

Here's a guy who is taking all of this grief from the media, fans (present party included), and an owner who is frantic and freaking nuts psycho, but he still has the ability to check his ego and listen to others that have traveled this road and adjust to try to help his team.

I don't think enough has been said about him stepping aside and letting his coaches do their job. I don't think people truly realize how this can make a team more cohesive. The message it sends is that he trusts his coaching staff which in turn instills trust in the players. That one move, delegating, gives him high marks in my book. It could be the one move that keeps him here for years beyond next.

If any of you get the NFL chanel, check out the game of the week (seattle/wash). You will see exactly what I'm talking about.

it is what it is

I like Spurrier as an offensive coordinator. I think that if given time, he might make a really good head coach, because he is a player's coach from all I have heard. The question is, do we have time in this age of free agency where teams are planning in 2-3 year increments on how to hold together a core roster before the cap hits them too hard?

Once again it isn't a matter of whether I am patient to see if the coach is going to get it done - truly - but the agents and the greed and the parity have screwed every team trying to rebuild in a major way.

i like hue in that position. question, if jackson takes over running the offense, and spurrier takes a more active role as head coach, does he still get credit for his system workin in the pros..... in the critics eyes? hmmmm... :-k
