Kicker
Loving Kai Forbath. I truly hope he is the answer at Kicker for us for a long time. But, it is worth mentioning that Gano signed today with the Panthers. Here's hoping he isn't David Akers all over again.

not sure what you have against Gano ... personally I hope he has a great career
I also do not care that Akers is having a great career
I hope for the best from Forbath as well ...
there will be many 'ex Redskins' - many of them might become great players for another team - there is NO guarantee that they would become great by staying in a system or with a franchise that doesn't suit their talents ..
btw - Forbath needs to improve his kickoffs ... right now, his kickoffs suck ... OR .. he could also get an opportunity to be another David Akers
Nobody really expects the Redskins to do well - 8 wins is considered a winning season for Dan Snyder's Redskins
Redskins should fire Bruce Allen & try a different way of managing this franchise
Thankfully, Kirk Cousins is no longer the QB

I have nothing against Gno. I hole he succeeds. I don't eant him to end ip in the NFC East kicking winners against us while doing it. I didn't want us to cut him in the first place. I am just, like others on this board, tired of us cutting guys that end up having great careers elsewhere.

He definitely needs to improve them....Fortunately the coverage is pretty good right now but he either needs to get more heighth or kick em deeper cuz they are line drives that are BARELY getting past the 5 yd line. However as long as he keeps making dem field goals he's cool in my book.

Forbath is a good FG kicker IMO - in order to keep his job he's got to get his kickoffs deeper
Next season we WILL have a kicker that can kick FGs AND hit deep kickoffs
Forbath will be that guy ONLY if he finds a way to kick the ball better off the tee
c'mon Kai - we need you to improve on these kicks
ESPECIALLY if we continue to score points and have more kickoffs

I disagree. If he hits every FG, there's not a chance in hell Shanny, or any other coach, cuts him. He could kick it to the 20 every time, and they'd probably just have Rocca do kickoffs, but they'd keep him for the FGs alone.

He made a huge pressure kick today that sealed the victory against the cowgirls. Yep, I think Mike finally found a reliable kicker.

Yup... he's gold on the offense... that will seal it. He's our guy.

It compressed the foot... essentially makes it a harder contact surface, to put more energy into the ball...fetus wrote:what is with the smaller shoe??? what does this do?
It also places him at risk for a Morton's Neuroma at some point in the future... hopefully long after the end of his career.

Forbath demonstrated twice today that he does have the ability to line drive the kick, and push it through the endzone more quickly than the returner could react...brad7686 wrote:Historically coaches have put more onus on kickoffs than field goals, I hope shanny is smart enough to ignore the tradition. Especially with the new kickoff rules.
I think that's probably good enough, and will serve the same purpose as booming it though.
