Would you want to see the Skins on HARD KNOCKS next year?

Postby riggofan » Tue Oct 08, 2013 11:15 am

I know there are some drawbacks and potential distractions associated with this, but Hard Knocks is a great show. I would love to see the team behind the scenes during camp next August. Actually kind of surprised Snyder hasn't volunteered for the show before (not as surprised that Shanahan hasn't allowed it).

The NFL is still hoping teams volunteer to be the subject of Hard Knocks. But they’re now willing to volunteer someone if no one steps up.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, NFL owners passed a rule which would allow the league to pick a subject for the HBO/NFL Films reality show if no one offered, which will keep the popular show running.

Colleague Albert Breer added that teams with new coaches, or teams which made the playoffs two years in a row could decline.

Many franchises have made it clear they want no part of the behind-the-curtain treatment, but the league has now made it clear somebody’s doing it, whether they like it or not.

If a team goes to the playoffs the two previous seasons they are exempt from having to do hard Knocks.

So here's to hoping we're exempt (and not for the new coach rule!)

I'd actually watch it if the skins were selected ---- that said, it would be a HUGE distraction and just add more fuel to the RGIII show. It would hurt the team and I'd rather have wins than ratings..... so no way.

I think it would be kinda cool honestly. What's the worst that could happen? We start out 1-3 next year...?

This would bring even more exposure to RG3. NO I dont want it at all. Reason why is I think RG3 is getting some humble pie which is good for him. If you had hard knox it would perpetuate the nonsensical media from creating more false stories and taking comments out of context etc.

Why make anything harder than it has to be? That's like turning a perfectly good 43 defense into a 34. Hard Knocks would not be the secret ingredient I would be hoping for. They would just point out anything we really didn't want to know.

Isn't there enough reality TV?

Would I want to see the Skins on Hard Knocks? Absolutely! Do I want all of the detriment that goes along with being the team on Hard Knocks? Absolutely not!

I think the negatives are overblown at this point. Sort of like MTV's The Real World, after a couple seasons the people coming on the show knew how it worked and what to do. Its not an exact comparison. With Hard Knocks it would be more like players and coaches knowing what to avoid.

If you watched the recent Bengals season, they clearly knew what to expect and how to handle the cameras.

Anyway, I think getting a look at the Redskins behind the scenes like that would be fascinating. There is so much that goes on we don't know about and just speculate on.

if we have to do it, i hope they take a bellicheck approach, which is simply.. don't do jack while the cameras rolling and wait till they leave.

i'm just assuming that's what he'd do of course
