Kaepernick's Value
I'm thinking a lot of QBs could have taken the 49ers pretty deep the last 2 years.
Which of these guys is just as good or better than Kap? I know Kap moves better than almost all if not all of them but I saw him not see wide open guys in the end zone in the Super Bowl a year ago and I saw him throw some ugly picks in crunch time in the title game this past year.
No way I'm giving Kap the old $100 M for 5 years.
P. Manning
Brady
Rodgers
Newton
Brees
Rivers
Luck
Roethlisberger
Wilson
Smith
Foles
Ryan
Romo
Cutler
Stafford
Dalton
Palmer
Flacco
E. Manning
Griffin

I'm not saying any of them are as good or better. I'm asking which ones are.
Would you offer Kap $100 M for 5 years?

Re: Kaepernick's Value
It does not matter what we think - the 49ers will pay him (at, or close to) $20m per year - he's not signing for $18.5m per year
Apart from some stupid fans, nobody really expects the Redskins to do well - The Redskins need to get rid of Bruce Allen & bring in a new President and GM with the authority to rebuild this franchise
Thankfully, Kirk Cousins is no longer the QB

Re: Kaepernick's Value
I have no idea what you point might be... I mean, so what? Kaepernick is a tremendous physical talent, who is probably at his potential, in terms of his development... Who cares if the 49ers overpay for him?

agreed - that's really the point ... not sure what DM is trying to get at here either ...
Kaepernick is just another player that will most likely get paid more than he's worth

Re: Kaepernick's Value
It's just an inquiry to a message board in a forum called around the league fellas. I'm not sure I've seen any thread yet where what we think actually matters. It's the off-season, things are pretty slow around here, and a guy who I think is not all that great sounds like he wants $20 million plus a year. I was just wondering how the few people who are actually visiting the board felt about it.

Re: Kaepernick's Value
Kaepernick is a 'really good' QB - I look for him to get a 'really good' contract
nothing 'new' here - most NFL contracts are not based on what a player is 'worth' ...
I really like how Griffin, Kaepernick and Wilson play QB - maybe Kaepernick & Wilson are 'worth' more to their franchises - Griffin will soon show his real 'value'

I'm thinking the situation in SF (and Seattle) reflects a philosophy often discussed here - you do not need a great QB if you have good lines, etc. The situation in GB is pretty much just the opposite.
I'm thinking SF with Rodgers is a juggernaut and GB with Kap is not very good.
The next 2 years here and then Griff's next contract will be very interesting.

Re: Kaepernick's Value
I think we're lucky that we have Griffin and that he's going to show the value in having a good NFL QB with good coaching and good players around him
even really good QBs need to have a good HC and be a part of a good team - Griffin, Kaepernick and Wilson are all good NFL QBs

Re: Kaepernick's Value
If Tony Romo is getting 100 million. There is no doubt Kap should get 100 million. Look around the league and see the shortage of good Qbs. Plenty of teams would be happy to pay him 100 million.
A young Qb with a rifle arm, blazing speed, good size and is a proven winner. They went to the SB once he became a starter. Was one play away from getting to the SB again.
Very few Qbs I would rather have then Kap.
Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Breez and Andrew Luck. Thats about it.

Re: Kaepernick's Value
The only thing that matters is what SF thinks Kap is worth
saying that Rodgers would be great in San Francisco and that Kaepernick would not do well in Green Bay is worthless
Kap is not playing for Green Bay and while San Francisco thinks he might be worth $100M - Green Bay may not - still means squat
Colin is a really good QB and someone is going to pay him $100M - franchises are basing the amount they pay on what the guy is worth to them based on the current market

Thanks for chiming in fellas.

I would have rather had Alex Smith in that end game against the Ravens.

Wilson?
