New OC next year?

Postby Jake » Thu Dec 18, 2003 8:19 pm

On Inside The NFL on HBO, they were going over possible head coaching replacments or coaching changes and Peter King thinks that Bill Callahan will be fired by the Raiders and that he might be hired as our new offensive coodinator. I don't know what to make of this. I am very undecided about how our coaching situation will be settled :hmm: in the offseason. :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

If Bill Callahan can't control 30-40 year old savvy veterans, in the waining moments of their careers, then bringing him in to deal with our young bunch of kids would be a wrong, wrong move...

This team needs discipline, not a guy who is going to let them get away with murder... ala mr. spurrier

I am SO FREAKING SICK OF WIMPY WHIMPERING WHINY WEAK coaches on this damn team. We need someone who can fire these guys up to play. Someone who doesn't just stand there with his thumb up his nose when someone does something wrong.

Hue Jackson will do just fine. As long as it is a short passing game.

we'll never have a decent offense with SS at the helm....the "chuck and duck" won't succeed in this league....run have to establish the run in order to open up the passing lanes and force the secondary to support the run...otherwise you get what we got last week and the last time we played the pukes and that's embarrassed...teams will blitz every snap until we show a committment to the running game
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

Rich in Roanoke is right... look at the new coaches we had that established some discipline.... Marty went 8-3 in 11 games and go fired unjustly... Marvin Lewis brought our defense from below mediocrity to the leagued 5th ranked unit... Now he is in Cincy, having turned them from a joke to a playoff contender in one season...

We can't make a coaching move now, but geeze, I wish Spurrier would flip out on someone on the sidleines, or act like he cared just once... Bill Callahan is another "whiney, as Rich said," emotionless man, who lets his players get away with murder... He is publicly criticized by the team's most known player, and he apologizes to him publicly... Heck no, the coach should bench him and teach him a lesson... Not give in to him...

Besides... then what are we paying Spurrier 5 millino a year for if he isnt calling plays and working with the offense... to stand there and say, Punt team... kick team... TV timeout... NO WYA...

If we were to go in another direction, which we shouldnt... It would have to be a Jim Fassell or Bill Callahan type... someone who commands respect from the players under htem... not a softy...

When can we get Chucky (Jon Gruden) I freaking love the man, and also Bill Cowher, he doesn't take any sh.. from anyone, both of these guys are way up on my list of coaches.

I'd like either of those two as well, Marc.

My love for Chucky has been discussed ad nauseum on this board. I really like Cowher too.

I'm wondering what the hell we need a new OC for? I mean wouldn't an OC want to bring in his own system? We already have one offensive genius at the helm... cripes, how many chefs we gonna put in the kitchen. SOS sure ain't a coach in the NFL because of his stunning ability to coach the team as a whole, so if we're gonna get someone else in here callinmg the plays (and subsequently probably a new system)... what is Spurrier for?
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
