Coaching Staff

Postby BossHog » Sat Jan 10, 2004 12:33 am

I thought I'd start this thread and we could fill it in over the next few days as the staff fills out...

Head Coach - Joe Gibbs
Assistant Coach - Joe Bugel
RB coach - Jack Breaux
QB Coach - Jack Burns
TE Coach - Rennie Simmons
Offensive Quality Control - Coy Gibbs

Defensively....

DC Greg Williams

These are the guys we're working on...

ST - Danny Smith (with the Bills) but Pete Rodriques possible too

Defensive assistant coach (?) - Jerry Gray
DL Coach - Tim 'Rubber Leg' Krumrie
LB - Don Blackmon
S / 3rd downs - Steve Jackson

Did i miss anyone?

I think that covers it - the DL coach, LB and s/3rd downs coach are all under contract and not approachable according to the reports though :(

Actually, we have permission to speak to Jackson (S) and Smith (ST) but not Krumrie, Gray or Blackmon.

Grimm is not looking like it'll happen unless we are just playing possum. He gets Mularkey's job if he gets fired. Not sure why he'd wanna be offensive co-ordinator of the Steelers under Cowher rather than off coordinator in Washington under Gibbs. We couldn't get him any other way, so he would have to be the co-ordinator. I figured that's why Bugel wasn't named OC, to leave it open for Grimm. Then Buges could be line coach too, but he and Grimm would basically share both jobs.

Now Jerry Gray says he's not interested in the Skins. I have 8 cards for him to sign but if he wants to have another losing season in Buffalo, his loss.

TRUST ME! YOU DON'T WANT DANNY SMITH!!! He was horrible with Philadelphia (often the butt of jokes) and with buffalo, well let;s just go back to opening day 2002 vs. the NYJ. 2 returns given up to one chad morton. Just get Pete, we know him and he does a better job than Smith.
it is what it is
