Garcia should step aside as Niners take to the road
Oakland Tribune columnist Carl Steward: "If Jeff Garcia is really as smart as he appears to be, he may not want to jump in front of the Tim Rattay bandwagon just now. It's simply moving way too fast and way too full to risk getting in its way."

Martz shoots down conspiracy talk
St. Louis Post-Dispatch: "When it comes to sports controversies, this town loves conspiracy theories. And in the aftermath of Sunday's near-hook for quarterback Marc Bulger, conspiracy theories abounded on talk radio, Internet forums, and water cooler discussions. Among them: Kurt Warner didn't want to go in Sunday in Chicago because he wants to be traded."

Time to stop thinking so defensively
Daily Herald columnist Mike Imrem: "As exhausting as the Jauron-Blache-Shoop act has become, it's clearly time to compile a preliminary list of candidates to replace them. I'll even name names, starting with Brad Childress."
