Alot of things on defense are needed and can be addressed in the draft (DT, FS, SS, CB) but there are alot of free agents for those positions available and good athletes will be available later in the draft to address those needs if still needed by the time the draft rolls around. First and foremost we need a runningback. Corewy DIllon who is the best Free agent candidate has attitude problems that are not needed on our team. I think we should keep our #5 pick and take 1 of 2 players First Kevin Jones from VA Tech. He's lightning quick, fast, strong, durable and the best all arounbd back in college football. If he's not available go for Greg Jones From Florida ST. He's a big strong bruising back reminescent of gibbs' finest work, The Diesel, Johnny Riggo. Either way we need a Jones in the backfield!

Duce Staley is another part time back that shares carries with therest of his teammates. He isn't going to carry the load as well as he once did, and he like Corey Dillon, has been a negative influence in his lockerroom this season.

The only thing he did well this season was take the backseat to the two, younger, and equally as talented backs on the roster, without whinging too much.

The Eagle's just started the running back by committee system this year. That's why his stats are down. (also b/c of the holdout)

I keep reading alot about our needing a running back. Personally I hope Coach Gibbs takes a good look at Ladell Betts. He ran pretty well when he was healthy. I know he's not a big Riggins type bruiser, but as a young guy coming into his third year maybe they should give him a real shot to be the #1.

Redskins fans talk alot about wanting to develop our own players through the draft, but we're already giving up on a second round pick?

I'll be happy with either Dillon or even Warrick Dunn though Duce can stay in Philly as far as I am concerned. Thomas Jones who had a good year in Tampa as a backup might be worth taking a look at as well. Betts should definately be given a chance though - he played pretty well when healthy

I would prefer Warrick Dunn or Duce. But if we don't get a RB in FA, we should get Jones in the draft.

if we get a duce, lets hope somehow snyder worked his magic with nawleans....heck, i'd give up the 5th pick for him.(not ever gonna happen, but a guy can dream can't he). as far as staley, only punks complain about making millions. and if he were good enough the eagles would have offered an extension before a holdout was even possible..... :twocents:

No, I was talking about Duce Staley. I would like Deuce McCallister but he's definitley not available. I wish we could have him.

Duce Staley is a beast. He breaks tackle and has speed. I dont know who Joe wants.

OK I have to ask..

Some of you (you know who you are) who like Staley have also bashed Champ for being a me before the team kind of guy. Staley (who I like) held out last year…Champ fulfilled his contract! Without starting world war III. My question to you who have done this is how do you differentiate between saying Champ is selfish and bring in a guy like Staley who by your standards is selfish

If we keep comparing guys in the league, we will definately run out of players to choose. Very Happy

IMO, some guys get what they want as far as money is concerned without asking for it and some guys have to ask for money they think they should get Surprised .

i'm lucky enuff not to get caught by this one.... i think both are me first guys. you are right though, champ didn't want the holdout to have an effect on his image. (probably cause he's looked at this whole season as an audition) staley on the other hand, was dumb enough to sit out of camp, and lose the starting job. the only reason he hasn't complained is cuz he screwed up his image bad enuff in the first place, this season, was an audition for him too, only he wasn't half as smart as champ about it....... :twocents:

I don't think we need Staley or Dillon, give Betts a chance and draft Greg Jones in 2nd or 3rd rd.
